All day today we are covering speakers and panels at the 34th Annual Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, DC. This morning, we'll hear from Republican presidential hopeful former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani. He will be followed by Reps. Scott Garrett (NJ), Tom Tancredo (CO), and others.

No he is just a LIAR. He doesn't care what Rudy says.
That's how I look at it, and Rudy stayed within the law.
Amen.
Dang, what he said was so funny and so true.
Won't win him any votes in France, but we shouldn't be letting them vote in our elections, anyhow.
A fact missed on some posters here who still claim that he's MSM's and the party's choice. What idiocy. LOL.
I saw a few even before 9/11 by way of the NY local media outlets on my satellite dish, and you're right, Rudy ran circles around the NYC media.
Kind of like Ty Cobb, when asked if he could have beaten Mickey Mantle's record one year: "Hell, no! I'm 72 years old!"
Yep. So much for a big tent. Right now it's more my way of the highway.
But Howlin and I are going to Washington, D.C. next month, although our trip is top secret. :0)
I haven't seen that. If and when I do, I'll be sure to suggest it's inappropriate.
It was so funny when he said it! It was perfect! Guess that sends a message to France and UN that they are not high on Rudy's list! :)
uhhhhhhhh...... no! Guess you didn't watch the speech.
I do believe women have a lot less of a problem with Rudy's liberal social positions than men do. I don't think women are as hung up on gun rights for example, and while women actually are a little bit more pro-life than men, they still like men who say it's their own CHOICE, and see pro-life men as trying to dictate to women.
I'm a little surprised though how conservative women go for a man who was married so often and had such a "liberal" sexual history.
Good afternoon!
Somehow, through the miracle of modern technology, we are STILL managing to GET ALONG.
Ain't life grand?
Not playing victim. Speaking the truth. If you want to see FR go down the toilet because of the hyperbolic hysteria of a few extremists, then fine. Some of us still value this forum as a place to discuss, even debate, issues, ideas, and candidates.
My father didn't serve in Vietnam, although one of his classmates was drafted and died in combat shortly after he was drafted. My father didn't serve because he had a high number in the draft lottery. Just because one didn't serve, doesn't mean they dodged the draft.
It's all about 'eye contact'. Rudy for the most part can speak without notes and a teleprompter, he focuses on getting his message out to the audience and 'connecting' with them. It is a rare gift.
He spent about four months once 'learning' his 'state of NYC' speech so he could give it without notes and concentrate on the message and the audience. I think no one will be able to match him in this. Remember he was a prosecutor and had to do a lot of 'convincing' in his day. :)
And since so many social conservatives on FR threatened to stay home last November, if it was that group that caused the loss of Congress, why would they think for one second that any politician is going to court them?
And why would people who have similar social conservative views decide to run for public office and subject themselves to the whims of such voters?
There will never be candidates we agree with 100% of the time so politicians will work their platforms to fit the most reliable voter who actually drags themselves to the voting booth on election.
