...and, I would add, that if it were feasible to outlaw abortion by passing a bill, I'd say that it should be done. But it isn't feasible. The partial-birth abortion ban was passed by a Republican congress and signed by probably the most vocal pro-life President we've had since Roe v. Wade, and where is that ban today? Bolloxed-up in the courts (numerous courts). The courts is where the issue needs to continue to be pressed, and Rudy's pledge to appoint Roberts/Alito/Scalia-type justices should be good news to pro-lifers.

One poster spits on those who think abortion is an important issue.

Which post?

I'm finding it embarassing and humiliating. I don't expect everyone here to be in favor of the same candidate at this point in time. I would expect we could have decent discussion about the pros and cons of each candidate without airing the dirtiest of all laundry for all to watch... as Scarlett O'Hara's mammy said: it ain't seemly.

You'll recall post of Jerome Corsi's were used. Not when they were made, when they'd be useful. Tony Snows were pulled, for good reason. When the Swift Boats are mentioned, there are often allusions to a right wing site. Edwards just had to fire two aids, and got some lousy press, over blog posts.

If I wanted to portray right wingers as homophobes or just general lunatics, there's plenty of fodder here.

IF you believe, as Rudy apparently does, that being gay is normal, healthy, and good for society, then why would you oppose allowing people who were gay to get the government benefit of living together in a committed relationship?

He doesn't of course, he just is smart enough not to call it "marriage", although denying them the word "marriage" if their own churches will marry them seems awfully "bigoted".

There are a lot of conservatives who see that the gay lifestyle is a bad thing, but still think people should not be discriminated AGAINST because of that lifestyle.

But it is perfectly right and necessary for us to discuss openly, honestly, and frankly the harm to society caused by the gay lifestyle, and anybody who denounces those who want to have that conversation should be called to account for it.

It's most unfortunate. For the site and for Republicans in general.

When someone is clearly a man and clearly more men than women are the ones running crying to Jim, you think it's bitter for women to laugh at that? ROFL. Poor sensitive you.

Hey, I've got no problem with it. For all I care you can track the posts of men and women and create trend charts for all to see.

My point is that I rarely see anyone refer to the gender of other posters. I see you doing so on a regular basis. That leads me to conclude that you see the world through a lens of "man v. woman". I've never liked that trait in Al Sharpton, for example, and I comment to that effect routinely. I don't think it's any more appropriate when coming from a FR poster.

I'll just let my last post stand because I think your over-sensitivity to this issue is, in itself, funny.

Oh, and I'll wait while you try to gather up similar enthusiasm to comment on the men around here calling female Rudy supporters "desperate housewives".

We had 3 freepers out picketing the white house to get the two BP agents pardoned.

It happens. I would fully expect that, if Rudy doesn't fall apart on his own, people who feel passionately that Rudy's views on these issues are bad for the country DON'T show up to picket him and call him to task for those views.

Someone already showed up at CPAC with flip-flops for Mitt Romney.

Can you imagine Guiliani press conferences!

That's what I can't wait for, having already seen a great number of them locally. Giuliani eats the press for lunch. Total mutual loathing, and Giuliani nukes them 100 percent of the time.
