Leave Spiff alone -- he's Rudy's best recruiter here!
To: EternalVigilance
So as usual, your answer is "none."

Every day, from speeches he gives, to appointments to his campaign, Rudy shows that he is conservative on a broad range of issues of importance to conservatives. The more evidence presented that Rudy is conservative on key issues, the more hysterical, strident, and desperate the naysayers become. Their comments only resonate within their own little echo chamber. It's a fascinating thing to watch.
To: Spiff
I wish you'd quit sugar-coating your opinions, Spiff.

So as usual, your answer is "none." No, those are your words, not mine.
But your answer, as usual, is "Go Rudy Go!"
NARAL has said the same thing, repeatedly.

They loved Rudy! C-span lost their audio in the middle--we think it was the rats--so we're going to catch it on replay tonight--presuming there is one.

How many times did he praise Margaret Sanger?
How many times did he express support for Roe v Wade?

That's because your premise is wrong. The public isn't so much against the war in Iraq, but against the way it is being conducted. I think it's a very personal lack of confidence in Dubya.
To be fair, he has jacked up the situation on the ground and jacked up the message so bad that this broad lack of confidence isn't entirely unjustified.
A guy who the public has confidence can execute a war effectively will get the nod. And for what it's worth, that could be a dem in the minds of many voters.
All of this has nothing much to do with whether the candidate will in fact run a war more effectively. Perception is more important than reality.

Rudy hit a home run when he talked about bringing down the Gambino family--with listening devices, intelligence, etc. (Hey, this guy knows how to go after the bad guys)

It sure is fascinating. And I've seen so many polls which reflect that voters are more concerned about national security issues and their pocketbook and fiscal conservatism (where Rudy excels) that I think he'll do quite well which will make for some interesting times around here :-)

I've always said it. I haven't listened to Bush speak for a very long time. I couldn't listen without cringing, and that's bad. Can you imagine Guiliani press conferences!!!! I'm so excited. I've already sent money...and I promise I will campaign actively for him. That's how important I believe a Guiliani Presidency is. Because, frankly, I'm kinda lazy!

He can make his case clearly, cogently, persuasively, and unapologetically.
It's nice to see in a GOPer after six long years in the wilderness.
