I travel to New York not often but regularly. Heard Rudy speak once before a mostly liberal audience and he was impressive, pulled no punches. The difference between New York before and after Rudy was like night and day. Really underscored the failure of liberalism to effectively govern cities.

Spiff, honestly... do you come equipped with a rheostat? You really should learn to tone down the non-stop hysteria, over and over. It would make your opposition much more effective. Instead of persuading me or winning me over -- and Rudy is not my dream candidate -- you're actually enforcing the impression that you're unreasonable and not to be taken seriously. You're too much.

I brought up a number of inconsistancies in Giuliani's speech - on the fly, mind you - and there's been no substantive rebuttal. Just attacks. Yeah, I'm crazy...I need meds...I'm going to hurt myself...I'm nuts...etc.,etc. If you can't debate the issues, then go get bent.

(ALL OF THIS IS WITHOUT NOTES WHICH IS ASTOUNDING)

Contrast that with a high profile GOPer who seems befuddled and wide-eyed when asked even simple questions.

Cool. I agree. He should run for mayor of a large city somewhere. Preferably a north east liberal city that is more consistant with his views.

There ya go. Admitting you have a problem is the first step on the road to recovery.

Did Rudy mention how he wants to take away our guns, so all we have left is sticks to use when the jihadists come to behead us?

This guy does not even measure up to a RINO.

I love it! It's been fascinating watching the Rudy ragers push those good conservatives under the bus. They sound just like Chris Matthews when they do that!

From the comments I've read it appears that he's steering well clear of social issues, while waving the bloody shirt to tatters.

Honestly, I wish every politician would steer well clear of social issues. Social conservatism starts at the bottom up—in your home, church and community—not from the top down with the government. Politicians who actively push a socially conservative agenda do little more than preach at the choir while pissing off everyone else; the same with social liberals. Hearts and minds aren't won over to the conservative cause by any elected politician.

What I look for in my elected officials is smaller government economic conservatism and a belief in a strong national defense. These are proper roles for the government, and something politicians can actually have a true effect on.

I don't love divorce, but he does see his kids quite often. They are very close. It's not even remotely the same thing as the inner-city babies born out of wedlock to teenagers and their 20-something boyfriends who can't support them. Rudy's kids are not on welfare, expecting us to pick up the tab.

Actually he's never said he wants to take away your guns.

And he has no intention of letting the jihadists come and behead us. He'd rather defeat them on their own turf.

Just saw that Rudy is heading to Hollywood for a fundraiser.

His policies should play well there.

Rudy may be the right leader for the right time. We have been a 50-50 nation for way too long, even after our nation was attacked. We need to bridge that divide somehow. Maybe he can do it by combining enough of what appeals to GOPers with enough of what appeals to dems.

If you'd stop spraying spit like a lunatic for five seconds, you'd get a debate. You'd find I actually like Duncan Hunter and hope he does well. But I'm just a queer abortionist retard, right, Beavis?
