...While many Democratic movers and shakers in the film industry felt they owed Clinton their loyalty, there was a gnawing feeling that it would be no simple task to get one of the most polarising political figures of our times back into the White House.
....Of more concern for Clinton's campaign, her prospects against the likely Republican opponents have grown bleak. Less than a month ago, she was running in a virtual dead heat with the leading Republican, former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani, who has yet to declare his candidacy. The Rasmussen and Zogby polls taken last weekend have Giuliani ahead by as much as nine percentage points.
.... Since 1989, Hollywood has given more than $US100million ($127 million) to Democrats for federal campaigns alone; this is on par with what the oil and gas industry has raised for Republicans in that time.
Some Obama supporters have noted that Clinton's fall in the polls coincided with last week's slanging match instigated by Hollywood billionaire David Geffen, a former Clinton confidant who is now backing Obama. Geffen, who is openly gay and a contentious figure himself, was scathing in his criticism of the Clintons, questioning Bill Clinton's moral compass and saying he believes the Republicans see Hillary Clinton as the easiest candidate to defeat.
...Clinton's campaign was outraged that Obama got in first - though Clinton will raise at least that much at a fundraiser next month - and word around town is that her supporters are being told that there will be no tolerance for spreading the wealth to other Democratic candidates. One insider says people are being warned that ambassadorships go to those who were there from the beginning and didn't waver in their faith.
But such warnings don't appear to have stemmed the tide.............

I would tell Hitlery to kiss my a$$. What arrogance.
Frankly, I think Algore and Newt are just waiting, keeping their powder dry, waiting for the early announcers to burn themselves out.
This is the smart strategy, IMHO. Nobody can maintain interest for over a year before the initial primaries. It is going to be a sprint to New Hampshire in the Fall. Fresh legs are going to be worth a lot.
"Since 1989, Hollywood has given more than $US100million ($127 million) to Democrats for federal campaigns alone"
Money and free publicity go a long, long way to making people care.
Bwahahahahahahaha. I hope she totally implodes. She has been so used to getting her way.
"A lot of people will distance themselves from her as this campaign goes on."
No, she won't....
After she buys the nomination, the entire left and the media will line behind her against the Evil McCain/Guliani/Romney/Player-To-Be-Named-Later...
Remember, POWER is what is most important here...

It was risible. Unintentional theater of the absurd: A chintzed-and-powdered villain, a soulless, angry, arrogant scold, oozing cloying, saccharine-coated evil, pulsating to the metronomic swing of stubby appendages--claws too short to grab its prey. (Gesticulation is a dud's only sign of life... and then only if she has a speech coach to prod her.) The performance was nothing if not humiliating: A direct measure of hillary clinton's hunger for power. Which reminds me... enough of that red Klingon power jacket already. The fatal problem with the clinton machine's extravagant, fanciful and elaborate construction is not the absurdity, however. It is the architectonics. A precarious 20th-century conceit, the hillary! construct totters on a crumbling foundation of clinton lies, abuses and betrayals. It should have been no surprise that David Geffen's comments to Maureen Dowd would so easily topple it. But to the average clinton lackey, it apparently was. by Mia T, 3.01.07 more: |
True, but it must not matter that much to the voters or Democrats would be winning all the time.
not only trust but PURE FEAR. Hollywood knows the Clinton's kill or have killed .It's that simple...
Either that, or it's only the support of Hollywood, etc., that keeps left-wing nutcases "viable" enough candidates to even make a horse race of things.
Theresa Russell was much better to look at.
Or some other reason, or all of them.
Power means NOTHING when you are fearful. No one would want to look over their shoulder wondering what Hitlery might do. Who would want to be obligated to someone like her. The Clinton's run things like the mob.
Have I missed soemthing? Has Giulliani announced he is running?
They may be a bunch of preening airheads, but they have oodles of cash. For Liberals, cash trumps truth.
The Clinton's are Mobsters and no one wants to wake up with a horses head in their bed.
November.
my sources( I know) said that very sentence
