I'm still wondering what the 'freak out' factor will be among the pseudo-cons when Hunter starts breaking into the top-tier in a big way. Why, we'll all support him, that's what we'll do. We're GOPers, not liberals -- or retards, abortionists or queers, as many in the Hunter fever-swamp freely spray about their fellow teammates.
A 7-year Freeper becomes all those things because he doesn't want to see Rudy destroyed. Nice bunch.

That's exactly the point I was trying to make. Doubt it will make an impact however.

You might, but I doubt "all" of the Rudy-bots will. Heck, Rudy himself has a track record of supporting Democrats. And as a conservative living in NJ, I have seen for myself what happens to liberal Republican supporters when a conservative gets the GOP nod. They feel an irresistible compulsion to publicly support the Democrat opponent. But I digress....

Rudy is a north-eastern liberal who has no business becoming the standard-bearer for a party which expects to get conservative votes. Nominating him is electoral suicide. I pray that we Republicans will step back from the edge of that cliff, put down the bong, give the media and pollsters the finger, take a deep breath, and focus on finding a conservative candidate who can rally the base and present a clear choice for the general election.

(I don't vote for liberals, regardless of party.)
