As expected it’s a shoestring operation, but volunteer Hunter volunteer communications director Roy Tyler has been camped out at the Marriot for at least the last weak in preparation for tonight. The campaign has also put together an information line for activists

County party Chairman Rick Beltram said candidates are pouring money and energy into Spartanburg:
• Brownback and former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani have sent thousands of direct-mail pieces to Republican voters.
• Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney is running TV ads and has done direct mail.
• Those three, along with U.S. Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., and U.S. Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., have visited the county in recent weeks.
If Hunter adds 2 paid campaign staff, I think he could have picked up that 6 vote differential. But that's a lot of money to spend for 6 votes. Looks like Hunter spends money very wisely.
