And Rudy, unlike Hunter and a few others, didn't even have teams on the ground there, working for him. This IS a very good sign and one which belies all of the crazy posts that claim that NOBODY in the South will ever vote for Rudy.

Interesting. We were told that Rudy had all kinds of organization and money in this and that Hunter had none.

Hunter has spent extensive time there the past couple of weeks.

Good points, nopardons. I saw one of the frequent posters around here who loves to argue on another thread claim that Rudy won the straw poll by spending a lot of $$.

Pretty much anyone paying attention knew that wasn't correct, but there's no sense arguing with these people.

We can beat her with a good Conservative. Make gay marriage, guns, and babies an issue and Middle America will be with us. I even think we could win with our worst RINO. But I would rather put people up there who represent Middle America.

And I believe the only thing that could stop us would be if our economy tanks.

The problem is you don't realize that Hunter is NOT an anti trader. He is a free trader in the Reagan mold. That means not tolerating trade agreements that go against our interest or that provide our enemies advantages. CHina has gained both. Mexico, though not an enemy, is screwing us as well, though its more accurate to say we are screwing ourselves.

Now, what you haven't heard: Hunter complaining about trade with Japan, the philipines, england, holland, chile, brazil, australia, New Zealand, SoKo, France, Norway, Poland, etc, etc, etc.

[shrug]. I'll continue to post the truth about Rudy - largely quotes where he outs himself as a liberal and wannabe Democrat - and the people will make up their minds. As far as the "ugliness" business, there are plenty of posts here which record just who is being ugly to whom.

How did McCain get that many votes? Did the people know what McCain said about out troops when they voted?

This vote tells me - no one has it in the bag - wish Newt's name had been on the list!

No, I asked for non-emotion based reasons people would support one and not the other.

Rudy has appointed Ted Olson as his Judicial Committee Chairman (I'm not certain that's the exact name). Olson, former US Solicitor General and staunch conservative, is going to campaign for Rudy.

They've been friends for over 20 years and he knows how Rudy, as an attorney, feels about judges.
