You said something very close to it.

He just posted it and proved he was lying.

I never said a WORD about conservative convictions; I said you wouldn't be setting the agenda this time.

You're the one who finds conservative convictions to be a boot on your neck, eh?

Hardly, Howlin. You said this:

It's not going to be DNC Lite; it's going to be a more moderate conservative party though; you all have had your foot on our necks for too long.

This country has to be governed in the middle; the world has moved on from the 50's.

The Contract with America will unite this party again. But we're not going to let you make abortion and guns the big issues this time around.

More moderate conservative? What kind of nonsensical phrase is that?

And guns and abortion are off limits? Those are CORE conservative values, despite your denials.

You were a bit too open there, Howlin. You revealed your true RINO colors with that one.

Go read post 249 carefully. The correction was made right in the post.

Excerpt:

So here is your post. I know you will quibble "foot" with "boot", but meaning is otherwise quite clear:

It's not going to be DNC Lite; it's going to be a more moderate conservative party though; you all have had your foot on our necks for too long.

I never said a WORD about conservative convictions;

More moderate conservative? That's a contradiction to everyone but you. Abortion and guns will not dictate? Those are CORE FR conservative values. YET YOU CONTINUE TO POST HERE DESPITE THE FACT THAT BOTH ARE IN THE MISSION STATEMENT.

That's hypocrisy, Howlin.

Thanks.

Looks like some folks on this forum want to fuss with each other instead of discuss tonight's results.

I live in Greenville County (borders Spartanburg on the west) and have been a GOP precinct Chairman here, so I have a fair idea how my neighbors think. Almost half the GOP primary vote usually comes out of these two counties.

I am not an alummni but Greenville County is home to Bob Jones University just to give folks in other parts of the country some perspective.

We are waiting for you to explain.

more moderate conservative party.

But we're not going to let you make abortion and guns the big issues this time around.

You let your true colors show, Howlin.

No, you're wrapped so tight you think you ARE conservative convictions.

And abortions and guns will not be the major issues this time around, whether you like it or not.

And once again, you can call Jim to have me banned if you want; you seem to want anybody who disagrees with you gone.

It's like Dog Gone said today, you all are squealing like stuck pigs and we know why.

I don't have a damn thing to explain to you, Nancy.

You seem to think you're the final word on all things conservative, but you're turning off more people than you're winning over.

You're posting like your life depends on it; you need to cool off.

Here is that to which you referred. To make the chart work, I chose my own more pithy but fair characterizations.

Asked of Republicans and independents who lean to the Republican Party. As you may know, Rudy Giuliani supports civil unions and is pro-choice on abortion. How would this affect your decision as to whether you will support him for the Republican nomination? Does that make you -- more likely to support him, not affect your decision either way, make you less likely to support him, but not rule him out, or does it make you rule him out as a candidate you would support?

That is projection.

And I'm very disappointed to meet the real Howlin.

Ensure I'm off the live ping list of yours.

I hope, when you cool off, you come back and read this thread tonight.

He just posted it and proved he was lying. I never said a WORD about conservative convictions; I said you wouldn't be setting the agenda this time.

He posted it and proved that you said that you're sick of people with conservative convictions having their "foot on your neck" for too long. It is very clear what you were saying.

I liked Jim Robinson's response to your revealing post:

Count me out on a slide to the left. I prefer to fight on for God, country, family, life and Liberty.

Whos side are you on, anyway? It certainly isn't the side of the brand of conservatism that Jim Robinson and Free Republic set out to support.

Ping to #272.

Both conservative and moderate GOP primary voters prefer Rudy. 48% of conservative voters said they would vote for Rudy vs. 21% of conservative voters said they would vote for McCain.

Thanks for posting that, FairOpinion.
