And the thing is, Rudy didn't even make a serious GOTV effort, while all the other candidates campaigned hard. Its a sure sign of the incredible wave of momentum that Rudy is riding right now, a wave I don't see ending anytime soon.

This wasn't SC GOP in general. It was the Spartanburg County GOP.

"Rudy doing well in the Bible Belt is a good sign."

He's down to just 19% of the total vote, and hunter's at 17%

They will need to work out a trade policy, since the two totally disagree on that, and also on some social issues. Come to think of it, the ticket seems nutter. It isn't going to happen. Rudy might pick Mitt, but not if Mitt really trashes Rudy. We shall see. If Rudy gets the nomination, I suspect he will not pick the runner up, or second runner up, which is a fairly typical pattern, but not this time.

Mitt already trashed Rudy and McCain. Not a good thing to do.

Hunter is basically unknown, yet look at how CLOSE he is to Rudy. That speaks LOUD about Rudy's liberalism. Rudy is a RINO, and Hunter is not.

well.. everyone has been bashing Rudy non-stop for months, wait until they start bashing Hunter... LOL!!!! Cunningham scandal anyone?

I heard the S.C. Conservative Rep explain that conservatism was not dead in S.C. That most voters listed WOT, security and economy as their priorities with social issues coming after....so it would seem that they feel Rudy is the better leadership figure at this time.......Hunter did show a great showing coming in 2nd......good for him.

This is just what I expected to hear tonight. Most voters, even in the Bible Belt and intensely interested in social issues, understand that national security and the economy come first. Very pleased for Hunter; this will give his campaign a much needed boost.
