I'll probably start living up to my handle and support Romney. But I like to think I've got a pretty good instinct for elections and how they will turn out, and I can't look upon a Hillary-Romney contest with anything but foreboding as far as the end result. The way it looks now, it looks like Hillary picked the best time in history to run against the Republican party. Have we EVER had such a weak slate of candidates? This is really depressing to me.

Somewhere... somehow... we need to get NEWT back to SOME position where he can be "the mouthpiece" for the Republican party. He can out-debate ANYONE the Dummies can toss out at us! Someone needs to put him front and center for the "voice" of our party. If he were to "coach" our guy... whom ever that may be... we'd stand a damned good chance of getting in the WH.

Some say Newt is old news...dirty laundry...etc... but he is a talented orator / speech writer / coach... We need to team him up with a few of the conservative hopefuls...

I'm where you are. I pretty much had a nervous breakdown on a thread yesterday about all this. Everybody's saying don't panic, but I can't help it. I'm scared out of my mind that on election day, giving the way things are going, given that RudyG completely rips apart the repub coalition & the vote is guaranteed to go every which way in the primaries, that on election day the choice is going to be McCain versus Hillary.

It won't just be a question of "holding my nose" when I pull the lever. I'll have to take an extra pair of underwear in there I'll be so scared.

Oh, boy. I swore yesterday I'd hide out in Chat for the next few months, can't believe I clicked this on. I'm gonna have nightmares again tonight.
