I assume that Guilliani made the statement when he was running for Mayor of NYC, and if so, then so what? NYC is overwhelmingly Democratic, something like 9 Dems for every Pub. Getting on the Democratic line means that you name is on the top of the ballot, which increases your chances of getting elected. (And shhhh... don't tell anyone, but at the local level in New York, and particulalry in NYC, cross-endorsement is very common.)
That line itself I was fine with - he was just playing politics there. It's all the other stuff he said that I have issue with.
Shhhh.....don't tell anyone, but we're not as stupid as you like to think we are.
You OK with flip-flopping?
In an overwhelmingly Democratic city like New York, a Democratic candidate actually has a more difficult hill to climb to win the mayoral election -- because he/she first has to get through a hotly-contested primary fight involving as many as 5 or 6 opponents.
An ambitious Democrat who wants to be mayor of New York City is best served by running as a Republican -- just like Michael Bloomberg did in 2001. And I'm getting more convinced by the day that this is exactly what Rudy Giuliani did back then -- which is one more reason why he should never be trusted as the GOP nominee.
Is that anything like cross-dressing?
My God. The Rudy excuses get more and more pathetic. RINO.
Good one, reeeeaaly good one! You guys are getting better by the day.
That's far from the only thing he says on this video, though.
Exactly.
Also the information on the judges is misleading, per the attached interview from Captain Ed. A panel listed three judges from which he could pick as mayor and Rudy had to pick one of the three.

BTW RWR used to be a Democrat. In his own words, he didn't leave the Democratic Party, it left him.
If a person still doesn't want to vote for Rudy, fine. But the importance of a candidate's credibility on the war can't be set aside either.
Right. Yeah. Guess he needs a weatherman to know which way the wind blows. If possible, I think this defense may be more devastating than the man's actual words.
Please, stop defending Rudy’s comments - and I live in NYC so I know how difficult it is to be a Republican. However, Rudy always took the Liberal line and the Lib line no longer exists (thank goodness!)
“(And shhhh... don’t tell anyone, but at the local level in New York, and particulalry in NYC, cross-endorsement is very common.)”
From the looks of Rooty, Cross-Dressing is very common also.
