When I was a child in Catholic School, Sister Victorette told us that by saying daily indulgences, we could offset (pay-off) the minutes in firey hell that we rack up for each of our daily sins. As fifth graders, we concluded that this system was waaaay cool -- that we could still sin and get away with very little sacrifice.

So far, so good. So, where does Gore buy his ‘carbon offsets’? According to The Tennessean newspaper’s report, Gore buys his carbon offsets through Generation Investment Management. a company he co-founded and serves as chairman:

I'd love to find out that Halliburton was behind the selling of eco-indulgences...errr carbon offsets.

Ebay has several carbon offsets for sale by clever individuals. I need to get into this racket. I can design some frilly important looking document, print them out, and get some guilty environmentalist Gorebot to buy them. Maybe go to the theaters where "The Inconvenient Truth" is showing and set up a booth. I'll have my fishing cabin in no time.

I think of it more like being grossly overweight, but paying someone else to diet. ============== Well put.

Bromine is far more reactive than chlorine and has been blamed for ozone loss proportionately.

Ozone purification is the way to go, not of the air but actively used in the pool.

Just yesterday, on another thread, we speculated that that fat bastard had his sweaty hands in this shell game. And now you verified my assumption. What a slimy turd he really is.

I read story once where he had to be towed off a Los Angeles street when his electric car died before all this became a daily topic.

His character in St. Elsewhere is as good as it gets.

I have some carbon offsets in my backyard burn pit.

Had quite a collection of tree parts from storms caused by the Global Warming.

Maybe Al will purchase the carbon from me?

I love that show. At least Ed Begley Jr. walks the walk and seems sincere about the whole thing. Al Gore is a phony.

Oh the humanity! Think of all those idling cars behind him, waiting for him to be towed. Do you think he purchased offsets for the ozone damage?

I do love that he makes toast using a stationary bicycle! It really is the best use of a Hollywood actor's time!

My family owns some timber land. Seems to me that we could cut the timber then sell carbon offsets for replanting. The fact that we would have replanted anyway is immaterial.
