Everybody loves to beat up Rudy Giuliani for his liberal positions on abortion and marriage.

Most "experts" believe he has virtually no chance of winning the Evangelical vote. They may be right, but look what the Brody File found. In 2001, Giuliani came to the defense of Jesus (not that he needs it). Read the paragraph below from BBC News from February of 2001:

I think someone is putting too much stock in the evangelical or religious right vote and ignoring us conservatives who aren't terribly religious.

I like Rudy as a person but not enough to vote for him.

Why would Christians support a non-Christian Mayor? Why would so-called "conservatives" support a man who's constiuency consisted of Third World immigrants and their children (who together form the majority of NYC's population), waifish metrosexuals, and the sidecurl Mafia?

I thought so too, he won't win their votes... but that isnt the point, he stood up against the anti religious/Catholic.

Why would any conservative support an extreme Left wing wonk? Liberal extremism with a likeable personality, seen it before, ain't gonna buy a pig in a poke again...

Ahnold has demonstrated precisely how these "one size fits all" politicoes operate, no thanks.

And your tag line is right on.

At first blush I thought you may be mentally ill.

But you're really playing a game of truth or dare- am I right?

Some people are really into this 'my voting bloc is bigger than your voting bloc' stuff.

Some will give him credit for it, some won't. I spend more time shopping for a new truck than some people do shopping for a President. LOL ;)

So the question is: From a faith perspective, do you go with a Mormon who may share your values or a Catholic who may not? Are some Evangelicals so dead set against a Mormon becoming President that they would rather have Giuliani in charge?

Interesting questions.

Well Rudy "loves" abortion, and gay unions, so he can't be Catholic, so well, what is he? Probably when you get down deep, he really is a United Church of Christ type (which is hardly "Christian" at all), except that he seems to want to smite America's enemies more than most of them do, so well, maybe not. Oh well, I guess I will fess up. The fact is, is that I don't know what the hell Clemenza is talking about.

Rudy and Jesus??

I'd say that his mayoralty rose from the ashes, not from the dead. His political career, on the other hand, yeah, that was pretty much dead.

The evangelicals in spite of their whining otherwise, are pandered to like no other group in the Republican Party. Their demands for everyone to kiss their rings and meet the litmus test reached the saturation point a couple of elections ago.

If they can't play ball with the rest of the kids they should join the Right to Life Party.

Fight the good fight in the primaries, then shut up, grab a gun and take on the Democraps.
