Bill Simon, Rudy Giuliani’s Director of Policy, has just appeared on Fox News’ “The Big Story with John Gibson” to discuss an alleged attack campaign that will perhaps begin shortly.
Romney’s plan is to attack Rudy on several fronts:
Team Romney will also insinuate that Giuliani will ruin the “GOP brand”.
In an age where every YouTube video is answered with another YouTube video, Mitt should pay heed to the old adage regarding those that live in glass houses.
Mitt probably has no choice at this point. Rudy currently has between a 20% to 40% lead on Romney depending upon which poll you believe. This, combined with Mitt’s very early foray into purchasing TV advertising, is likely an attempt to show some kind of progress before it’s too late.
Go ahead Mitch it won't win you anything.
That worked against Long John Kerry. And it's reportedly the reason the Witch won't apologize for her war vote (as the moonbat Rat base is demanding). She fears above all being branded as a Kerryesque flip-flopper.
For many Americans, every time they look at Rudy they see 9/11. He doesn't have to say a word about it.
It's not a bad thing.
Okay. Then two raps on the knuckles for failure to use the /s key!
Don't think that process will produce GOP victory in 08. It is very familiar to Illinois residents as the way to destroy the Party unity necessary to win. But you aren't a Republican
I guess.
Anyway the only way for Romney or any other Republican to win is concentrate their fire on the real enemies not other candidates. This home both smacks of desperation and goes against his Nice Guy persona. Certainly the desperation is understandable given the rapidly strengthening Giuliani.
Lol, of course everyone will be SHOCKED to find out that the Mayor of New York couldn't get elected in Utah.
I have nothing against his religion. But "moron" is as "moron" does.
Sure you don't have anything agianst Romney faith....
But "moron" is as "moron" does.
Than why use moron and NOT "stupid" if you were NOT slamming his faith
But then "moron" stupid is as "moron" stupid does.
What you did was not nice but have a nice evening inspite of yourself!
"I was not being series. That is his only weakness as I can see it."
My apologies. Sarcasm doesn't always come off as easy as it should over the internet. Particularly here, as Romney is coming under a lot of pressure from conservatives in a way that I don't approve of.
Whether Baptists, for example (I grew up as one and still go to an occasional service at a Baptist church), disagree with Mormons theologically, they share common values, morals, and views of the world. It's a shame to see the occasional bit of animosity between them.
Carry on. And I'll take note for future ref.
"I don't want to get into a religous debate."
AND
"...call a spade a spade and point out that the doctrines of the LDS Church are very much at odds with the basic docrtines that unify all historic Christian sects."
So which is it Curiosity? Debate or not debate. I'm sick and tired of the "Drive By Bigotry" toward religion that is practiced by some here on FR. If you want to lay a claim like that at the feet of 12 million practicing Christians, then go ahead, but don't do a hit and run, it's unbecoming of an honest Christian like yourself
BTW, in what way was my comment "bigotry?"
"Mormonism isn't a form of Christianity."
"I also have a right to call a spade a spade and point out that the doctrines of the LDS Church are very much at odds with the basic docrtines that unify all historic Christian sects..."
big·ot·ry
1. stubborn and complete intolerance of any creed, belief, or opinion that differs from one's own.
You're being a little fast and loose with the word "bigot." I humbly suggest you take a little more care when using it. The fact of the matter is, most of your political allies are not going to think highly of your theology. Most, however, aren't going to hold it against you and will be perfectly willing to work with you for a common cause. Labeling them as "bigots" isn't going to help that cause.
I have similar issues with conservative protestants, many of whom have an extremely low opinion of Catholicism, some going so far as to believe I worship the anti-Christ. Very few of them, however, hold that against me and are more than willing to support Catholics who share their political objectives.
While I appreciate you defining a "cult" for the less informed, defining one's worship of Jesus Christ as opposed to your specific brand and other's whom you deem worthy to be called Christians is very much indeed intolerant.
You bring up calling a spade a spade when it comes to your interpertation of what a Christian is. Yes a spade is a spade, and a bigot is a bigot.
