Michael Savage, one of the most vocal talk-radio opponents of "San Francisco liberals," has the best talk-radio ratings among key listener demographics in that California city.
Talk Radio Networks' "The Michael Savage Show" is tops in News/Talk with a 4.3 share among male listeners 12 and older. Savage has a 4.8 share with men aged 25 to 54, and a 5.6 share with men aged 35 to 64 in the Fall Book on his flagship station of Talk910-AM KNEW, San Francisco.
Savage's national radio audience also had substantial growth in cities such as New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, Atlanta, Baltimore, and San Jose, Calif.
"Michael Savage continues to lead the way in San Francisco Talk Radio," says KNEW's program director, Bob Agnew. "He is so far ahead, not only in ratings but on the grasp of the issues, the rest are following his lead.
Savage, who bills himself as "an independent-minded individualist," ranked fourth on the NewsMax Magazine list of the nation's "25 Most Influential Talk-Radio Hosts," which was featured in the October 2006 issue.
pinging my favorite Wiener "fan" :)
I think that the guy is going to pop a blood vessel, the next time he rants... :)
I've been listening to Levin lately. He don't like the Savage much.
Must be time for payback from his buddy Moonbeam Brown..."you support me, I will have my friends listen to you..."
Oh man, I bet his 'publicist' is going to find Wiener a real peach to work with, much like the staff that works for him in the short time they do so.
That is because Wiener is on a Jihad against other Conservative talkers, thus the theory that he is a tool for MoveOn.org and the DUmmies.
I'm not a huge fan of Savage/Weiner, but it's nice to hear someone actually criticize Bush when he's wrong. Hannity and Beck are such suck-ups!
I listened to Savage a bit when I lived up in San Fran. It helped me survive the liberal stupidity, for which I am grateful. But now that I'm back in the "moderate" city of Los Angeles, I stopped listening to him since his rants really bring nothing intellectual to the debate and can be quite a turn-off for those who want to engage in thought-provoking conversation, not divisive mud-slinging.
I'm happy to have someone out there who isn't a cheerleader and mynah bird, regardless if I agree with him all the time.
I used to listen to him but he made me want to slit my wrists. Now I listen to Mark Levin. He has all the anger without the rage.
Savage harms the morale of conservatives and suppresses Republican voter turnout with his irrational, pyrrhic stands on random, pet issues and he frightens away moderates from the conservative cause who otherwise may have been recruited. I can't think of anyone else in talk radio today who does more to elect Democrats than Michael Savage.
But how does he REALLY make you feel? :-)
I wonder if Duncan Hunter fans tolerate Savage better than Rudy fans. I don't have any serious problems with Savage and I'm more Hunter than Rudy.
It is a striking example of contrasts when an issue comes along and you get to listen to the analysis of it from both Limbaugh and then Wiener.
Limbaugh breaks it down, piece by piece, each time nailing the issue square on the head with optimum clarity and articulation.
Wiener screams...period.
"payback from his buddy Moonbeam Brown"
You may have hit it. I always have felt that some of his rants are meant to turn off people mainly liberals who need to believe conservatives are nut-jobs.
