SAN FRANCISCO, California (AP) -- Asian-American leaders are calling on a weekly newspaper to apologize and cut ties with a writer who penned a column titled "Why I Hate Blacks."
In the piece, which appeared in the February 23 edition of San Francisco-based AsianWeek, contributor Kenneth Eng lists reasons why he supports discrimination against blacks, writing, among other things, "I would argue that blacks are weak-willed. They are the only race that has been enslaved for 300 years."
An official at the nationally circulated paper apologized and called the column's publication a mistake.
Leaders at the Asian American Justice Center, Chinese for Affirmative Action, Coalition for Asian Pacific Americans and other groups are circulating a petition denouncing the piece as "irresponsible journalism, blatantly racist, replete with stereotypes, and deeply hurtful to African Americans."
The petition calls on AsianWeek to cut ties with Eng, issue an apology, print an editorial refuting the column, and fire or demote the editors who published it.
"Something like this should never have been printed," said Vincent Eng, deputy director of the Asian American Justice Center in Washington, who is not related to the columnist. "Deliberate action needs to be taken to make sure this type of hate speech doesn't continue."

I assume he is talking about the hunting incident when dear Mr. Chai killed several people for asking him not to trespass, shooting some in the back.
This guy doesn't even bother with facts, just ignore him and he will dry up and blow away.

I hate reading articles written by someone with a tenuous grasp of the English language.
It doesn't say what nationality he is other than Asian. I have to wonder.

He's got his 15 minutes now - since he's not a comedian he can't get up on stage and shout "NI##@R!!" like Kramer did, but the paper is his medium and he's using it in the same way.

Islam has enslaved its adherents for nearly 1500 years.
By his name, probably Chinese, though he could be from any Overseas Chinese family that may be many generations removed from China.
How many years have the North Koreans and the Chinese been enslaved by a Stalinist or Maoist totalitarian system? How many more years until North Koreans and Chinese are completely free people? Are they weak-willed people?
Bunker mentality. I suggest to the original [racist] author that if you go around with the kind of attitude that is ready to pick a fight on any imagined pretense, you are a) likely to get a lot of negative reactions because you are a fight-picker, not because you are an Asian, and b) giving fodder to the kind of white person who up until you walked up, probably didn't feel one way or another about Asians.
This is the same kind of idiocy I see in the "reverend" Jackson and his race-baiting ilk. If everyone would shut the hell up and stop whining about how horribly The Man Gets Down On Them, and put that effort into simply working hard, loving their families and keeping their home and car presentable, racism would die out in two generations.
Most immigrant Asians, Mr. Eng, are so hard-working that they out excel most white American kids. Most Asians have a work ethic that outperforms the average white adult. I have nothing but respect for them, because like MLK claimed to do, I judge them on the contents of their hearts, not the color of their skin. The author of this original article, however, I sadly have to condemn, because he is so caught up in his own bigotry that he must project it on others. And anyone who opens his front door in the morning waiting to be offended by any group that he despises will certainly have the chance to be offended, because most of the rest of the world doesn't really like being despised.
And I bet he wears it like armor.

I'm thinking the majority of Whites and Asians don't think what the guy has to say is worth the time of day much less getting angry over. Apparently Blacks feel differently !!!
