James Carville: Al Gore Will Run in 2008

Democratic political strategist James Carville says Al Gore will run for president in 2008, but he fell short of offering his endorsement of that possible campaign.

Carville, appearing Tuesday as a guest on MSNBC’s ‘Imus in the Morning’ program, said Gore’s desire to run for political office might come, not from his Oscar win, but rather from something more primative.

"Running for president is like having sex,” Carville said. "You don’t do it once and forget about it. You want to do it again. He’s run for president in ‘88, he ran for president in 2000. We know he wants to be president and the stars could line up. I suspect he will get into this race.”

The CNN analyst, author and former Clinton administration operative, will likely support Sen. Hillary Clinton in the 2008 race, but Carville said he is not formally on board with her team.

"I am not associated with the campaign, but I am sympathetic to it," Carville said. "I love her and I wish her nothing but the best. I think any Democrat can win the general [election], but the primary will be tough for her, and I think she knows that.”

As for the Republican field, Carville has a longshot favorite he thinks may impress: former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee.

"If I was a longshot bettor, I might put two dollars on the nose on him,” Carville said. "I’ve seen him on television. He’s a little like President Clinton. He likes people; he knows how to relate to people. His father was a preacher. He can talk the talk. I’m impressed with this guy’s political skills.”

He’s (Huckabee) a little like President Clinton.

Another reason not to support him. Huckabee is more liberal than most people realize especially on illegal immigration and government programs.

It would be an incredible clash to see him and Hillary go head to head. Maybe we should hope he goes for it. Could hurt the Dems a lot.

Somehow though you would think Gore would enjoy his current movie celebrity status more. As far as getting adulation from the public, being president is probably a step down from being an Oscar winner!

but Carville said he is not formally on board with her team

...but, he knows where the bodies are -- so she can't let him leave her and live. My money's on Carville's sense of duty to her booty (and his own).

The Serpent hisses again......

With Carville in the picture, they really want Gore to run.

The biggest problem for Gore though; The Moderates and Independents. There is no way they will let Gore ruin this economy with his ridiculous Wacko reform.

Pete...the debate is over: all he has to do is look at the audience, roll his eyes, smile, and say, "There you go again...".

Yes he's running. And he's gonna win.

I hope OscarAlGore runs. Then the Dimos will have Hillary, Obama, AlGore fighting over money and the limelight and King Bill refereeing the whole mess. They won't have time to dedicate to their own views and Hillary will have to, HAVE TO, attack AlGore to get him out of the way.

Then watch the fireworks. One or the other, or even all of them will do a Howard Dean impression....self-destructing the DemoRat Party for the White House again.

James Carville: Al Gore Will Run in 2008

As the Old Guard funeral detailees in "Gardens of Stone" said...

Ashes to ashes,
Dust to dust,
Let's bury this bozo
And get back on the bus.

If he does he will have to debate his global warming issue.

With the democrats?

I doubt it. They've already drunk the kool-aid.

With the Republicans (assuming he gets the nod)?

Well, Rudy is already on board. Don't know who else would debate that point.

Carville won't just give his endorsement away. It goes to the highest bidder.

He will run, but I differ with you on the win part. Giuliani will be his worst nightmare.

The good thing is, it will take most of Obama's funding away immediately. Which is mostly Hollywood, Soros, etc,,,.
