KARACHI, Pakistan -- Police are seeking 10 men, including several tribal elders, accused of pressuring a Pakistani woman to hand over her teenage daughter as payment for a 16-year-old poker debt, officials said Tuesday.

In the latest case highlighting how conservative customs threaten women's rights in Pakistan, Nooran Umrani alleges that, despite paying off her late husband's debt of $165, she was threatened with harm if she failed to hand over her daughter, Rasheeda.

I put my ex-wife in with a 6 high, but everyone just folded...

Do you happen to have your wife's cell phone number handy?

Current or former? I couldn't give another Freeper my ex's number, couldn't sleep at night thinking of what I did. Current would just get a huge kick out of it and talk dirty to you until your ears turned red, then hang up.

Pakistan again!

Pakistan clearly the most backward and despicable place on the planet -- occupied by the most fanatical lunatics ever produced...

And -- they have nuclear weapons!

The world is truly insane....to have stood by and allowed this to happen....

"ps: Pakistan are American allies..."

Only temporarily.

They can clearly not be trusted over the long haul in the struggle against militant Isalm...

The cost to America for Pakistan's minimal contributions - would probably shock us all.

Yeah Mate, but I would not hold my breath for that.

The GOTUS paid them $27 Billion officially since 9/11 (something that the Pakistani's have very likely helped cause). God knows how much went to them under the table.

They have been under the US wing, more or less, since 1950.
If the US is the Godfather, then Pakistan is the ocassionally defaulting, sometimes back stabbing thug Uncle Sam controls in the badlands.

I guess it is necessity that binds the US to Pakistan, and not love.

Unfortunately, I dont see how Pakistan is ever going to be un-indespensible.
