They never do those types of investigations into 'voting' machines. It'd be so easy to load the touchscreens up with brief flashes of corrupt Democrats names.

Most players that use these machines are already hooked. They dont need messages.

Of course, they messages could be advertisements. Only problems is, when the suckers leave the casino, they won't have any money left to spend on anything.

"It is only a software glitch"...

Right... How convenient...

Now consider electronic voting machines...

I don't approve of tobacco companies increasing the addictiveness of cigarettes, either, though.

I'm not sure what you mean, but subliminal influences are known to cause effects.

The corrupt Democrats could easily add flashes of "good" for their candidates and "bad" for Republicans, or many other such forms of influence.

As far as I can tell, the only message they should be flashing on these machines is to get people to stand up and go to the bathroom once every eight hours or so. The machine is overtly designed to encourage gambling, and does so very well. It's hard to imagine they could be made more compelling with subliminal messages.

Indeed, we are of course talking about "flashes" here...so tell me a little about your thoughts on the link you posted at the bottom of #1.

You make a good point that gambling is a compulsion from which some people suffer.

Should there be limits on the extent to which others should take advantage of those people without their awareness?

That's funny.

It's not so funny that slot machines are examined so much more carefully than 'voting' machines, though ...

I suppose it'd be possible to watermark some really pale subliminal messages onto paper ballots, but I'll have to give that some more thought.

Obviously, simple human decency is right out. There's money to be made, after all.

I think the solution lies in public education and societal pressure. Unfortunately, our schools, governments and religious institutions have been completely corrupted by the money involved. So who is going to do the educating?

I like the old style mechanical 'New York' voting machines where you pull a lever to close the curtains...depress little levers to pick your candidate and finally pull the big lever back to open the curtains and count your vote.....

foolproof.....
