The Crosses of Lafayette , or what the locals refer to as the Lafayette Shamorial, has been legitimized be the Lafayette, CA. city council after 2 1/2 months of negotiations with 2 anti-war groups. The National Lawyers Guild held a legal gun to the cities head and demanded and receivied a MOU (memorandum of understanding) allowing them a sign 8 times the legal limit (subdivision size), no limit on duration of the 'memorial', and exemption from city nuisance laws in the future. They can also change the sign to represent any slogan they want. In other words, they city sold its commnity out.
So guess what? On Thursday March 8th between 9:30 and 10:30 we take it back! The hill that has a sign showing the troop death count will also bear a sign saying, "These Heroes Dont' Quit!" with a large flag backdrop. This display will welcome our MAF Caravan from S.F. to Lafayette, their first stop. Anyone from the East Bay must show for this as our troops need positive messages from home. Bring a flag , expose the truth at the Lafayette Shamorial on March 8th.
