Hunter's campaign ads may violate campaign laws MANCHESTER, N.H. Republican presidential candidate Duncan Hunter, a California Congressman, has used his political action committee to run New Hampshire TV ads introducing himself to voters -- in what some specialists say could be a violation of campaign finance laws.

The laws are simple: If it is not a democratic ad, it is illegal.
I think you're right :-)
Well, I guess we could consider it just another example of Hunter following in the Reagan tradition.
However this plays out, it may have a net positive effect on his campaign by boosting his name recognition even as the left is trying to use it to cripple him.
Can the 24/7 ads the MSM calls news for Clinton, Rudy and Obama be considered violations?
Waste of time and money on both sides.
Sounds like somebody in the GOP is getting nervous.
"Can the 24/7 ads the MSM calls news for Clinton, Rudy and Obama be considered violations?"
AMEN!!! Blatant politicking by the MSM. I don't think anyone's even denying it anymore.
The usual conservatives heads up for Duncan Hunter Ping!
"He is in some pretty dangerous [legal] territory," said Jan Witold Baran, a noted campaign law lawyer who served as general counsel to the Republican National Committee and to President George H.W. Bush's 1988 presidential campaign."
Duncan Hunter is against Illegal immigration and doesn't march in lock step with the current Administration's policy..Enough said..

Makes you wonder what the dollar value of the words "front runner" is before a candidates name when the MSM says it repeatedly in news reports. Or what the value of rigged, bogus poll results are when they are released as news of a candidate or party being far ahead of their opponents.
When is the Glob going to report on Hillary's campaign-finance scandal.
As I understand it, a Pac can spend money on issue ads -these ads cannot include certain words and phrases like "vote for" and I think about 20 others.
It looks like he was doing an issue ad for the border fence, unless there is more than is in the story.
Tricky, perhaps, but I'm pretty sure this is legal.
>>"join with me, Duncan
Hunter, at Peace Through Strength. Let's make sure Homeland Security builds the border fence."<<
We won't know how much DH has raised in his Presidential account until the required FEC filing March 31st. That DH needed to use his PAC indicates that the Presidential fundraising must not be particularly robust.
LOL! Thats exactly right..
It's kind of a non issue issue because by the time the FEC gets around to ruling the NH primary will be over. However if they do let it go then the campaigns have found another way around campaign finance laws.

You are probably right but with the Fox poll showing him going from 0 to 1% to 2% in three months he may feel a real need to pull out all the stops and build momentum.
It came out well before he announced any candidacy. Next.
Bingo!
