I simply cannot believe this. I'm from a long line of energy wasters in big homes. This reported 221k kWh in a year is just not possible.
If I remember correctly, Barbara Streisand once recommended that people dry their clothes in fresh air, rather than using an automatic dryer, in order to save on energy. But she exempted herself because her recommendations were to people of a different socioeconomic class than hers.
And Arianna Huffington only flies private planes that are "going there anyway."

The Google founders reportedly drive hybrid cars -- and they also bought a boeing 767 for personal use! Talk about having a carbon footprint with a personal wide-body airliner.
