Some have, I am not sure of any here, but I know some wanted to rename a building that was named after Goldwater because of his views on gays.

Of course they would! He was very much against the groups of religious activists that started calling themselves "conservatives" and taking over the GOP in the 80's. He was pro-choice, he was for lifting the ban on gays serving in the military...he flunked just about every litmus test of the social "conservatives"!

Since when did the test for being a conservative involve a laundry list of social issues? What about big issues like tax reform and reduction, entitlement reform, budget deficits, spending cuts, eliminating pork and gov't subsidies...I think you get the idea.

Yep, never did like the guy. And as far as I'm concerned if your are not also socially conservative, you are not a conservative.
