Well, apparently Rudy doesn't need the conservative vote. How many here have said many times that "we" must be more moderate. Well, good luck with that.

Could Rudy win? Maybe. But then don't be surprised or come crying each time he plunges the RINO dagger deep in the heart of Republicans.

I cannot believe how many are so naive that they allow themselves to be fooled by flowery campaign speak only to express shock and outrage after the campaign when the former candidate is now free to govern based upon the script in his heart.

Rudy is a liberal John Lindsey Republican. To say or assume otherwise is shear nonsense.

I lived in New York under John Lindsay and I've lived in New York under Rudy Giuliani and can tell you first-hand that they are NOTHING alike. Lindsay was an elitist who forgot that the other boroughs existed, and Rudy was the polar opposite -- the rich elites hated him and called him a fascist, but the ethnic Democrats (the ones who live in the outer boroughs) loved him. He would either lose Manhattan or win it by the skin of his teeth, but he would destroy the opposition in Queens, Brooklyn and Staten Island.

How many times do I have to say that Rudy was the best mayor of my lifetime? I'm pushing 50, so I really do have a basis for comparison.

Sorry... couldn't let this go by without comment: Do you know ANYTHING about Rudy's record in NYC? Anything about how he shrunk the bureaucracy, reduced tax rates, reduced crime, reduced the welfare roles, improved the schools, improved the business climate in the city? Doing all of these things that were a reversal of John Lindsey Policies and Traditions?

You can criticize Rudy on many of the familiar talking points, but don't lie or reach for ridiculous comparisons. I don't even think the knee-jerk Rudy hater's here on the FREEP would join you in John Lindsey comparison. THAT is sheer nonsense!
