"So much for the looneytoons on Free Republic who wish to paint Rudy as a liberal."
I'm willing to keep an open mind on Rudy but perahps you can explain something to me:
Rudy said he'll appoint strict contstructionists, or originalists to the courts and yet he supports RvW which is the mother of all court activism.
How can someone balance such apparent cognitive dissonance?
Or is that merely a sop to conservatives to allow them to pretend they're not really seeing what they're seeing?

Oh joy, yet another beltway/NYC elitist trying to spin us into the faux conservative of Guiliani.
Guiliani is making a Dukakis mistake.
He should just admit he is a typical lawyer liberal and be done with it.

Hey, how 'bout we ditch all the slickly packaged phonies and just have genuine conservatism?! You know...the small government, low-tax, strong national defense, traditional moral attitude, robust free-market economy kind, that Reagan left us!
Sign me up for that.

I don't cross-dress, but Rudy does . . . is your guy a gerbalizer/a `felcher' as well?
(Well, this dialogue has officially gone south . . .)

"Don't like that one then check out this one by conservative FrontPage magazine, which says the same thing."
It's also interesting that the author of the FrontPage article also authored a recent article on illegal immigration that is 180 degrees from Rudy's position.
http://frontpagemag.com/Articles/ReadArticle.asp?ID=23398 The one hallmark of all Rudy supporters that claim they are "conservative" is that they say they don't agree with Rudy on the issues; abortion, illegal aliens, second amendment, gay rights, etc., but that they support him anyway. This is very strange and can only be explained by the, sometimes expressed, position that ideology and principle are not important, not if we can get "our guy" (read Republican) in office regardless of whether "our guy" is against virtually every position we hold, including those expressed in the Republican platform.
Like I said, strange.

This dialogue went south when you took it there.
You were given substanitial information regarding Rudy's record as well as regarding why conservatives can and do support him.
What you do with that information is your choice.
