Not sure what this means — but we've just gotten an announcement that the parties in the Libby trial have been asked to come to the courtroom at 9:45 this morning. Could be some sort of inquiry, or it could be bigger.

If he and Libby had some prior adversarial relationship over Mark Rich, then shouldn't Fitz have recused himself?

It would seem odd that out of that whole mass of people that this particular one is the one he chose to prosecute.

I've been saving this for the right momment. Here is a little jewel that I got off of Huffington post. It shows how these people think (the left):

• If the jury convicts libby, and this truly opens the door for investigation of the American Traitor cheney, can he be tried on HIGH Crimes of Treason to INCLUDE the DEATH penalty, this I would whole heartly support as it would send the Strongest message to the Corporate World and the sitting Congress and Senate as well as those who hope to hold office in the future.

Will this also open the door for Investagations into the bush CRIME family and the TRAITOR rove. ALL are guilty of HIGH TREASON all should be held accountable.

I just love this quote. It shows how utterly delusional they are. I hear slightly softer variations of this all the time. "If he gets 30 years he will flip". Flip on what? It's already admitted by the prosecution that there is no larger crime. It's already known the the leaker was a sympathetic Clinton hold-over.

Good point. Speed.

How will we ever know if it was or wasn't a set-up?

I think I heard there are only 2 left, but I guess they would do, if needed.

If a mistrial occurs, will Fitzgerald re-try?

Will the judge give him leave to retry? The prosecutor has made public statements not supported by the evidence, which must prejudice the jury pool.

BTW, Byron York has pointed out, that one fact not allowed to be mentioned during this trial is whether or not Valerie Wilson has covert status, and whether therefore revealing her identity was a crime.

Yes, a farced. Also, if Fitzgerald seeks to re-try, another few hundred thousand dollars for Libby to cough up for his lawyers.

Fitzgerald has pretty much ruined Libby's life. He can sink him by re-trying after a mis-trial.

The blogger in the courtroom indicates more than one juror got this information. I believe there are only 2 alternate jurors left. If the report is true, we may well have a mistrial.

Missed it. I've been bummed out on it for quite a while. For anyone else that missed it...

Before the 14 jurors departed for a long break this afternoon, they filed into the courtroom, with all but one wearing bright red T-shirts with a white valentine heart over their clothes, to the uncertain laughter of many in the courtroom.

But as one juror, a retired North Carolina schoolteacher, rose to speak aloud, Judge Walton became visibly anxious that the juror might say something inappropriate that would threaten the trial. Jurors are not supposed to speak during court sessions and are supposed to make any concerns known through notes to the bench.

The juror said that they were wearing the T-shirts to express their fondness for the judge and the court staff on Valentine’s Day. He then added, to the judge’s growing discomfort, that they were unanimous in this sentiment, but they would all be independent in judging the evidence.

The one juror who apparently declined to don a T-shirt was a woman who had been a curator at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

The liberal wet dream that is Fitzmas was made long before Nancy P'lousy came on the scene.

we will know - a conviction coming on the heels of a "tainted" juror being replaced, will tell you right away that it was an engineered move to thwart a hung jury.

My first reaction was "what makes them think that this entire "find" isn't a fake?" Anyone could have scrawled names on the containers.

We are talking about James Camron, a Hollywood leftist, 'finding' the tomb of Christ, and then claiming that Jesus fathered a son by Mary Magdalen. Speaks for itself. It's not worth taking seriously.

If she is the one booted I think you have a strong circumstantial case for mistrail.

I just love this quote. It shows how utterly delusional they are.

Rather disturbingly, however, there are a few FReepers who say almost exactly the same things -- thge only difference being that they have different "enemies".

Whackadoodlery knows no political boundaries.

the left wants this conviction now, on any basis, through any means - whether its tossed out on appeal 2 years from now - they don't care.
