The 20 Rarest Muscle Cars
Among muscle cars, there always were a few that, for whatever reason were a little more rare than others. This list shows the rarest factory built production muscle cars. These are cars that ANY buyer could walk into ANY dealer and conceivably order. One off cars for company executives, dealer modified cars (Yenkos, Baldwin-Motion, etc.) and purpose built race cars (427 Cobras) are not included. Cars are ranked by total built by year, model, body style, and engine. Transmission breakouts are also shown, if known. Further breakdowns (by color, options, accessory) are either impossible to get or impractical. Note that by their nature, Hemi Convertibles are widely represented on this list. Convertibles represented everything that the typical muscle car buyer didn't want - a higher price, more weight, and generally lower top speed. Add to that the high performance (and high price tag) for the Hemi engine, and it is no surprise that Hemi Convertibles are the most rare of all muscle cars. In fact, throughout the Hemi era (1966-1971), Chrysler built 8,420,000 cars, yet only 179 of them (1 out of every 47,000) were Hemi convertibles. Truly, as a group, these were the most rare of the rare.

Remember folks, the reason we are here in the FReeper Canteen is to honor our heroes - the members of the United States Military and their families - and to show appreciation for what they do for us every day. Yep and worse. Try insulated overalls. Had a Austin Healy Bugeye Sprite that had a heater, well, it was called a heater but was more like a terrier breathing on your feet. Oh, lived in Ohio with that one.
Ah, but it was worth it, the girls thought it was sooooooo cute, that is, in the summertime.

A PRAYER OF PROTECTION
The light of God surround you The love of God enfold you The power of God protect you The presence of God watch over you Wherever you are, God is, And all is well. Amen.
BLESS THIS HOUSE Bless this house O Lord we pray; Make it safe by night and day;
Bless these walls so firm and stout, Keeping want and trouble out:
Bless the roof and chimneys tall, Let thy peace lie over all;
Bless this door, that it may prove ever open to joy and love.
Bless these windows shining bright, Letting in God's heav'nly light;
Bless the hearth a'blazing there, with smoke ascending like a prayer;
Bless the folk who dwell within, keep them pure and free from sin;
Bless us all that we may be Fit O Lord to dwell with thee;
Bless us all that one day we May dwell O Lord with thee.

Oh boy, the 500 cured the recessed back window turbulence at high speeds. During the first oil crunch in what 73(?)I had the chance to buy two Charger Daytona's that were in excellent shape. One had a hemi and the other was a 440 and could have bought both of them for 4 grand. Oh I loved those wings and long noses.
Only thing was back then any car I bought had to be driven and they were too expensive to feed with .69 cent/gallon \gas!!!!!

I've been building late '60s/early '70s Mopars since, well, since the late sixties. You see, even when they were new they weren't
quite good enough.
If Brad wants a Mopar musclecar I would be quite glad to help out.

Very pretty, but not as pretty as this one!

Wow, wow. I remember driving a new 69 Challenger from Mobile to Miami Beach, slap shift (?). The owner and I took the straight-on-through trip via the interstate and he kept urging me to "step on it" when we passed other cars... It didn't take long to pass I'll tell ya!

In '69-70 everybody else was paying 23-27 cents for gas. Only gas the Hemi liked was Sunoco 260 @ .45, and LOTS of it. And my insurance bill was $1,100 per year on $4,000 car. I was not an economics major.
