I am sorry but people who refer to actors by their first names are complete idiots/boobs/dorks/fantasy land residents, esp people ho are conservative.
I don't agree. Those participating here are sharing a common interest & we all understand each other. If this bothers or offends you, it would be better perhaps to just not post...
I believe your offense is not that we use first names.. your offense is that we enjoy cinema?
We all feel sorry for people who cant have tolerance for the pleasures of their fellow Conservatives.
1) I referred to no editors by their first names in that post, though I did in others. #623 was about an exchange between a director and an editor.
2) It was just lazy. Marty and Theresa are a lot easier to type, late at night when you've had a couple, than Scorcese and Schoomaker. Using first names might not be strictly according to Hoyle, and it's not something I'd do in formal writing, but it was clear.
Hmm. I referred to Reagan frequently as "Ronny." I think "Ike" was Eisenhower's preferred name, even over "Dwight" or "Mr./President Eisenhower."
