The prestigious Council on Foreign Relations is about to get a jolt of sex appeal.

The exclusive, Manhattan-based foreign-policy group has decided to admit actress Angelina Jolie, a U.N. goodwill ambassador who has taken more than 30 trips worldwide to advocate for refugees, AIDS orphans and disaster victims.

Her trailer was 20 feet from every photo op.

Do you think the film crews who shot her in Africa "roughed it"?

Do you think their cameras were generated by mice on turn wheels or pixie dust?

Africa is dying and the rest of the world sits back and thinks AJ will solve the problem. God forgive us.

We have many freepers who have adopted orphans internationally. The orphans in this country get three meals a day, have a roof over their heads, and aren't kicked out of the orphanage at fourteen or fifteen years old. They also have access to medical care, education, and even college.

You may not like her agenda. Heck, I don't even like HER. But I think her "agenda" is actually genuine, and if that helps more people to think about adoption, it's just fine with me.

She insisted on covering all costs related to her missions and shared the same rudimentary working and living conditions as UNHCR field staff on all of her visits.

So, no, she wasn't as bad off as the Africans (or Iraqi refugees, or any of the many groups she's been with), but she wasn't just doing a typical "photo op", either.

Nobody said that. I only jumped on here because I came across a typically narrow minded, mean spirited, BS filled diatribe against her that implied she's done nothing.

For an individual, she's done quite a lot.

Well, I'm about done on the subject of this woman. I really resent the fact that the sheeple ooh and aah over her and don't bother to learn the facts. Cambodia no longer allows their orphans to be adopted because of the AJ/Maddox adoption. Childless couples who've waited years, who had to look into international adoption because they had no choice are now closed out of the Cambodian orphanages. But then again, they are just the peons, so who cares?

Here's just one more. How long is a plane trip to Africa?
To Vietnam? To Haiti? She drags these kids all over the world for her photo ops, why isn't that considered child abuse? A 4 yr. old and a 2 yr. old on a 14 hr. plane ride. Constantly. Yep, that's some real great mothering right there! Now she's got a 5 month old infant, and and and! is already looking around for another kid to show off in front of the cameras with...she's a stone mental case and the stupid people everywhere don't even question it.

Would that be my post? What I said was that I didn't think she deserved the seat on the CFR. Because she doesn't. She is an unbalanced movie star with no education and a "U.N. as world saviour" agenda. That is what I said.

Funny, I was led to believe that those who volunteered made a tangible sacrifice for the public good and those who lived under repressed regimes.

As far as "charity" is concerned I doubt you are as astute towards what every freeper has donated over the years. Do you know how much I did or donated? Could be Al Gore sized giving or could be a lot, but the question is how would you know or anybody else's charitable donation and time who post on these forums?

I see plain as day what this chick is doing. The reason I not in awe is because:

1) The UN treats "symptoms" not "diseases"

2) I knew there were people living in horrid conditions before Jolie did her work.

3) I know people (Who are just regular people) that give (As a percentage) more time and money to the poor before Jolie did her work.

Sorry if I am not impressed. If Jolie donated all her assets and time to the poor I might give notice but to me she is just another one of "the gods" vain creatures.

After Michael Douglas rightly criticized AJ and Pitt in GQ, he was forced to back-pedal his remarks.

Douglas is no slouch in Hollywood. If he's been told to cool it, imagine the power behind her.

Very creepy.

At least former U.N. Good Will ambassador Audrey Hepburn wasn't a Satanist, as far as we know. And she didn't want to be a mortician or wear blood around her neck or tattoo pagan symbols on her body or imply an incestuous relationship with her brother or cause her father to say she was mentally ill and should be committed or have sex with other women.

Times change, I guess. Sometimes not for the better.
