Rudy To Attend CPAC

I reported a piece last month about how Rudy and McCain were skipping some conservative conferences.  One of the events I mentioned that they had not yet RSVP'd to is the Grandaddy Of Them All -- the Conservative Political Action Conference or CPAC.

Turns out Rudy will attend CPAC.  He'll speak to the confab Friday.

Another stupidly false claim on your part.

We'll see about that.

It was your big dumb strawman fallacy response in post #107.

Big? It was a one-liner. Strike one.

Strawman? In post 103, you accused Hunter of being a big spender without any details as to what type, how much, or why it's wrong. Hunter's primary focus is upon defense, for which he advocates more spending and many might argue that some of it is wasteful. I pointed out that what you might consider "big spending" others, including me, would probably regard as proper. Therefore, it's no strawman. Strike two.

I didn't call your request for substantiated facts a "Non-sequiteur rhetorical".

You have STILL not provided any sourced data in support of your claim in #102. Strike three.

I appreciate what Rudy did in NYC. But that's what he's best suited to. He'd make a good prison warden or Mayor of New Orleans or Los Angeles. His style is not suited to the Presidency. The War on Drugs would probably escalate and local and state police powers would be usurped by Washington.

His past statements are killing him, why couldn't he have just cleaned up the city instead of loudly proclaiming to be a pro-abortionist and gun-grabber. As Mayor he has no control over abortion so just STFU about it?

Rudy first started out in 1989 being against Roe v. Wade. The local media beat him up on it, so Rudy flip-flopped on Roe v. Wade in October of 1989 and joined the dark side.

But to answer your question, it was the media who would ask him about it, and it was probably his lefty wife nagging him that made him talk about it even more.

It's no excuse though.

You're a liar. No one here is surprised the least little bit that you couldn't tell the truth if it bit you in the ahem.

1) The rebirth of New York City, the most visible urban achievement in the 20th century is the work of the person now dubbed America’s mayor. For the millions of Americans who live in New York and the millions more who work or whose livelihood has been affected by its revival the contrast between the pre and post Giuliani years could not be more striking.

His defense of Israel and intolerance for Arab and U.N. sponsored anti-Semitism is legendary.

He figuratively walked into the lion's den of a crime ridden, high tax, and decaying city and carried out a conservative agenda of tax cuts, crime reduction and, in the case of the Brooklyn Museum, defense of religion in the public square. On this count Giuliani seems to be the winner in the public character category for his extraordinary vision and leadership.

2) Newt Gingrich:

“He is much stronger than anyone could have predicted six months ago,” said former Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich from Georgia. “New York is four times safer than it used to be. It’s one of the greatest achievements of government capability in the 20th century. And Rudy just has to go out and say, ‘This is who I am. If you think the world’s dangerous, and you need a tough guy … that’s me.’”

I should have put fiscal achievement. Some others conservative reporters have termed it the greatest urban achievement of the 20th century.

So despite your saying that I didn't correct myself, I can see that I did. And within just a few posts of my original post. Honestly, you wouldn't know the truth if it bit you.

LOL! So it was a "one-liner" instead of "big".

Gee, how wrong can I be.

It was spam. It was a false charged based on nothing.

If you want to seriously talk about Hunter and spending votes, I'll gladly do it.

I believe Rudy has always said that he hated abortion.

That's a rather odd claim from a guy who said he would pay for his granddaughter to have an abortion.

Hi, Old_Mil:

I'm not an Episcopalian anymore and haven't been for a while now. I'm an Anglican.

And I don't object to the traditional view of Cathlic marriage; I object to the way in which annulments are handled.

That being said, it's an issue (annulment) that I really don't wish to discuss further. I should not have brought it up because I don't wish to condemn the RC religion; I was brought up an RC.

It was brought up on a thread about reunification between the RC and Anglican Churches and I made the comment I did about annulment.

Rudy was talking about Bill Clinton and a fair number of Bill Clinton's policies WERE similar to Republicans, although I'll admit the Republicans FORCED Clinton to basically abolish welfare, etc.

Simple conservative principle really. Give and get respect.

The only liar here is you. Where in either of those statements are the words "the greatest urban/fiscal achievement of the 20th century".

They are not there, never have been there and never will be there, but you, as is your repeated habit post lies and then try to bend them to fit your BS.

You intentionally distort facts and when called on it attempt to spin your way out. You are a proven liar and you can kiss my ahem.

You'll have to forgive me if I don't take seriously anyone who actually said this to areafiftyone:

You're no better than the old Soviet propagandists who removed the inconvenient from history book photographs. EEE's pro-Rudy posting history is splashed all over FR for all to see.

I wonder if he will perform an abortion at the event, as he has been routinely called an 'abortionist' by the FR 'die or die' braintrust.

Take a look at post number 11 on that thread, to which you responded and amended your statement.

Can't tell the truth or read properly either.

You mean like the hysterical, emotional and over the top, blind following Rudy gets from some conservatives around Free Republic? Right.

No, I mean what I said, being quite capable of expressing myself using my own words.

Here's my question: What will you say if he gets an enthusiastic, excited, positive reception?

I predict you will denigrate CPAC as being insufficiently conservative.

You can't read? The first link I gave you clearly says the greated urban achievement of the 20th century. I'll add it one more time since you're clearly so reading impaired:

The rebirth of New York City, the most visible urban achievement in the 20th century is the work of the person now dubbed America’s mayor. For the millions of Americans who live in New York and the millions more who work or whose livelihood has been affected by its revival the contrast between the pre and post Giuliani years could not be more striking.

Since you can't read and have lied about my posts (that I didn't correct myself and add urban achievement of the 20th century) when I clearly gave you the link where I did, I won't bother linking up the comment where Rudy's achievement in NYC was called the greatest fiscal achievement of the 20th century.

Since lying is your thing, carry one.

I would gladly back up my charge about Hunter's spending record, but when you accuse me of being lame instead of simply asking for my source of information, the kind of response I give you is what you deserve.

Here is what you originally wrote: BTW, when will Duncan Hunter denounce his big spending, liberal voting record?

With this language, you are asserting that Duncan Hunter has a big spending liberal voting record. The use of the word "liberal" in association with Hunter is a pretty inflammitory charge and, given the history, difficult to substantiate. So here is what I wrote in response to your unsupported allegation.

I would hardly call advocating funding national defense adequately after eight years of "peace dividend" "liberal."

If you do, we know where you stand.

The word, "lame" appears nowhere in the post. Indeed, it accuses you of nothing unless you call Hunter's record on defense spending a problem. Nor was it insulting. Here is your insulting response:

What a big dumb strawman fallacy response. Hunter has a record of voting for big spending items above and beyond the justified DOD and Homeland Defense type spending.

The person who went to a crappy tone with personal insults was you. I have asked you three times now for support of your claims. No one has stopped you from posting it. In over 150 posts, you still haven't done it. I suggest you get to work on providing that data, with sources, or STFU.

Just for the record, you didn't correct yourself, you changed the statement after its absurdity was pointed out by another poster.

That's your post, right? I didn't CHANGE the statement; I said I should have typed...

Carry on, liar. It's what you do best.
