Heard it on Rush the other day: - Jonathan Karl to Vice President Dick Cheney: “Didn't we fail when 3,000 American soldiers are killed?”

Alicia Colon & her fine dissection of these MSM hype of military deaths: Heroes And Cowards.

The total military dead in the Iraq war between 2003 and this month stands at about 3,133. This is tragic, as are all deaths due to war, and we are facing a cowardly enemy unlike any other in our past that hides behind innocent citizens. Each death is blazoned in the headlines of newspapers and Internet sites.

What is never compared is the number of military deaths during the Clinton administration:

1,245 in 1993;
1,109 in 1994;
1,055 in 1995;
1,008 in 1996.

That's 4,417 deaths in peacetime but, of course, who's counting? Worth Reading in full.

I heard the death toll comparison on Rush's show this week. The one thing that I want to check before I start using this data point in an argument is how many deaths have happened between 2003 and this month outside of Iraq and Afghanistan (not counting folks injured there who die outside of those combat zones and they are already covered in the 3,133)?

I have a feeling that it isn't substantial as there is a significant percentage of our troops in the combat zones, but it is something I need to check out.

Thanks. I heard Rush talking about that, but did not get the source.

Leave it to Democrats to want a war where nobody gets killed. It's kind of like their non-binding resolutions that have no meaning or consequences, and they don't have to show any accountability for their actions.

The US Junk Media needs to grow the bleepity bleep up and quit being such utter hysteric freak losers. What utter pathetic scum. The ONLY time they EVER care about the Military is when they can use dead American soldiers as political propaganda props. The level of utter imbecility and complete unmitigated demagoguery and cheap fraudulent emotional hysteric these whores are stooping to is simply without ANYTHING even remotely resembling intellectual, or moral, honesty. What total clowns. A complete waste of DNA. Pity their parents "chose" to give birth to these scum
