Congratulations to these people for standing up for themselves; too bad though that it took six years and so much disruption of their lives and community before they found justice.
In searching FR, I found only a few threads pertaining to 'travellers' here in the USA (all of them regarding criminal activity).
I'm wondering if anyone has noticed much of a problem with these 'travellers' in the USA? Perhaps America will be their next favored destination, as Great Britain grows tired of them.
These people are a self-professed criminal class, and any half intelligent country would throw them all out.
They should be hit with RICO and every tool available to law enforcement.
I doubt the travelers here in the US want any competition.
Are these the same type of folk Brad Pit and his family were in the movie Snatch?
Greenville, SC, our neighborhood got hit. "They" went house to house during the night and stole from garages. We lost $900.00 in tools, etc.
Neighbor #1 thought it was blacks. #2 thought it was Mexicans. I voted for Irish Presbyterians. Neighbor #3, a prosecuting attorney, told me about Irish travelers who live the south and make a living running scams, and crime.
Just a picture of life's other side.....
I thought we had 12 million here ;)
When I lived in France, they were a horrible problem.
From my last visit, I would say they still are.

My folks got ripped off by these cons, they do prey on older folks.
The ones in AZ prey less now -- as some older folks have children that are cops.
How racist of this village...
