If I had anything to say that your mother didn't already tell you, I might warrant a statue.

Seriously the guy you are argueing with made a great point. Here in the real world, things do suck sometimes. As I liked to tell my men in the Army when they were sniveling, "Suck it up, Buttercup!" I hated much about the Army, and loved much as well. I say the same thing to myself a lot of times. I am not calling you a buttercup by any means.

"This is not a bad thing in my view. So people whjo want to be happier will tend towards self-employment. And how would that be a bad thing for people or our country as a whole?
What will happen is simple.
Large stupid corporations will start to fail and shrink without good employees.
The businesses started by these individuals will grow and flourish, and replace the failing businesses.

Until they lose that job. That's sorely missing in this piece of socialist bullsh*t.

As Drew Carey once said..."Oh, you hate your job? Why didn't you say so? There's a group for that. It's called EVERYBODY, and we meet at the bar!" :-)

If it was pleasant, fun and rewarding, there would be no requirement to pay one to do it.

I liked what I did just not who I did it for. So I now have found my true calling in life...retirement.

Exactly. And I'm not seeing anything bad about that. Big business isn't any more your friend than big government is.

I love my current job. I work for myself.
I couldn't take another stupid performance review where you write nonsense about your job and your "objectives" and you're required to offer Maoist-style self-criticisms. I have bosses having the power to make your heart beat fast just by saying "Can I see you in my office?" I am so utterly happy with being away from all that.
