A federal judge threw out a lawsuit filed by parents who wanted to keep their young children from learning about same-sex marriage in school. The judge, Mark L. Wolf of Federal District Court, said the courts had decided in other cases that parents rights to exercise their religious beliefs were not violated when their children were exposed to contrary ideas in school. Schools are entitled to teach anything that is reasonably related to the goals of preparing students to become engaged and productive citizens, Judge Wolf said. The parents who filed the lawsuit, Tonia and David Parker of Lexington, sued after their 5-year-old son brought home a book from kindergarten that depicted a gay family. Another Lexington couple joined the lawsuit after a second-grade teacher read a class a fairy tale about two princes falling in love.
...a lawyer for the parents, said they would file a federal appeal and refile state-court claims.

Ping...
Where is the world into which I was born? Two princes? I'm gonna puke.
It started to die in the mid to late 60's when spoiled, narcissistic, drug addled punks from New York,California and...yes,Massachusetts...decided that the rules just didn't apply to them.
As much respect and gratitude as I have for/toward the "Greatest Generation",their one great failure was that so many of them raised punks like this and that so many of them failed to stand up to those punks.
All judicial activism destroys the entire existence of a "healthy moral fiber" throughout the U.S., but in a slow manner. This is just as bad as having federal politicians create even more favoritism towards illegal immigrants over law abiding U.S. citizens and over law abiding legal immigrants. Favoritism for the ever increasing numbers of illegals throughout the U.S. will eventually destroy the Republican Party as well as eventually destroy conservatism throughout the U.S.! The total number of illegals who will vote in the U.S. will eventually outnumber the total number of conservatives who will vote in the U.S.=good-bye Republican Party, good-bye conservatism, and good-bye U.S.A.! Prove me wrong on all of this!
I am afraid that is just the direction we are moving in. So sad...
Be interesting to see what the Federal Court will say.
Did you read the first three words of your own post ?
I'm probably just not smart enough to see the connection between 'engaged and productive citizens' and 'two princes falling in love'.
