I didn't realize he was in his 60's...boy, now I feel like an old guy myself ! The oldest guy ever appointed was 66, you're right on...
To: areafiftyone
Exactly! All the time they were supporting Keyes the Bush ping list kept growing -- kind of like Rudy's ping list that keeps growing daily! :)

Rudy: I am surprised that it got so personal so quickly, but I think that was by accident.
LOL Rudy. Are you really that naive?
Geffen saw an opportunity to take a massive shot at the Clintons and he took it.
I don't understand why the press insists on dragging Obama into it. Not that I mind :). The fight appears to me to between Geffen and the Clintons.

I don't know Hugh Hewitt at all. Can we safely assume he is a RINO since he appears to like Rudy very much?

...and I appointed 100 judges myself. And its something I thought of, when I was the Mayor, as one of the most important things that I did. Well, Mr. Mayor. Why were almost all of them Democrats, then?
So far the Giuliani folks have been able to provide me with a grand total of TWO.

The Clinton team said loud and clear that they wanted Obama to d3enounce Geffen and return the money.

TWO Republicans that Giuliani appointed to the bench, that is. Out of a hundred...

Olsen for AG? He would sure surpass the current one in his knowledge base.

Ted Olson is a RINO, Pete Sessions is a RINO, Bill Simon is a RINO, Maggie Gallagher is a RINO, everyone is a RINO.
There is a pettern here. Everyone who doesn't denounce Rudy is a RINO.

In your calculation, are there more RINO's or Real Republicans(tm)?

If you're a Giuliani supporter, you provide ME with a list of the Republicans he appointed to the bench. I've been asking their camp for this data for weeks. They've succeeded in finding two Republicans out of a hundred.
This is not easy information to obtain, since Giuliani has locked up his administration's papers tighter than a drum. Not sure how legal that even is.

Maybe they'll come up with one. But the only one I saw was a comment on a Liberal Blog.
Maybe EV has a better source.

No. I just consider hacks who supported Schwarzeneggar in the recall RINOs. Is that okay with you, newbie?

Thats a bummer, yes I feel ancient now, but LtdGovt is right, you want youth, relatively speaking.

I liked Keyes and W had to work to win me over. I was thrilled when W beat Ann Richards for the Governorship. I was annoyed that he was running for President so soon. I'd forgotten that he'd been his father's hatchet man-- terrible responsibillity. I'd also forgotten that he'd worked his father's national campaign, which was great training to be President.
But he worked hard and he won me over. I never believed the whispers about "secret conservative". But I knew this man was right on taxes. I was pleased when he talked about the soft bigotry of low expectations. I was pleased that he'd push for vouchers and accountability. But I rolled my eyes when he talked about compassionate conservatism. I held onto my wallet. But I knew that he said what he meant and he wasn't trying to wangle his way to deceive the voters into electing him. And his plain and direct speaking was refreshing after 8 years of Clinton thuggery.
There's a big list of things to want when we vote. As a conservative, I understand the need to be realistic. Pick a short list of what's most important - trust, taxes, vouchers. Before 9/11, these were priorities.
After 9/11, he changed as did we. He is now as he was, only more so.
No rose colored glasses, but I am glad that he was there for the country in 2001 and today. If I knew then what I know now but couldn't change anything, I'd vote for him again both times. In a heartbeat. I'd give again.
So while Rudy has a long way to go to win voters over, keep in mind that they all have a big challenge - to try to do at least as well as W. And I can't really see any of them up to it yet. But the time is there for someone to work to win us over.
