the unnamed socon got ~90% and there was about 9% Hillary/Other. In this poll, the named socon gets 60% with ~40% going to other. That suggests to me that there are about 30% of freepers who aren't lined up with the socon. Now, some of that can be attributed to lack of name recognition, lack of confidence in Hunter's electability, falling for the solib hoodwink, but how much? There aren't as many socons on Free Republic as what I would have expected.

It suggests to me that if a conservative gets the nod he will get full support of the vast majority of all Republicans whether conservative, moderate or socially liberal. On the other hand, if a social liberal gets the nod, he will lose a substantial portion of the conservative vote. My guess is he will lose more conservatives than he gains liberals so will lose to Hillary.
