That he maybe, but he also understands what is at stake here. Something the dhimmicrats fail to see. Joe gets it. Country before party. if I was in a foxhole with Joe, I could lend him an extra weapon...If harry were in the hole, I'd remember to "get" all the enemy.
I don't expect Joe to become a republican. Glad to see that at least one of the former democrats has courage, (unlike our
ship jumin' rino's 17 in all I believe) and shows his independence.

You can bet that alot of moderate Dems are thinking the same thing. America didn't really think through what they were buying last Nov. and now they are seeing it on display.

You've got a point.
He sidles across the aisle and he looses a lot of leverage.
Even more of a reason for him to stay put and keep making headfakes toward the right.

According to the lefty comments, it's all some big extreme right-wing neocon conspiracy.

I'm sure all the Dems wished they wouldn't have turned their back on Lieberman during the election last year. I hope Lieberman gives them a lesson on paybacks.

"Please don't change parties, Mr. Lieberman. We already have enough RINOs, thank you. Being on the right side of one issue shouldn't make you a Republican."
He wouldn't become a Republican. He would remain an independent, as he officially is now. He would just be caucassing with the GOP in regards to Senate leadership organization. He wouldn't officially be a Republican. And I can't see how regaining control of the Senate can be a bad thing.

If he switches, Mccain would switch too just to keep the senate in his friends hands, and secure his nomination in some party.

you know, I'm confused.
If Joe flipped, would we get the chairmanships back?
To: Armedanddangerous
Yes. But only in case no RINO traitor would switch to the Dems.

I don't want another Liberal in the GOP caucus. I never have. I've been more then happy with Joe being what he is. An Independent Liberal holding his finger in the treasonous Dam that represents his former party on the issue of the war.
But if the Dems are so suicidal they actually do it, and I can believe it of them. Even expect it of them. yeah, I can see Leiberman switching to a caucus vote with the Reps. Of course if he DID there's the possibility the Senator from Maine or someone could flip and I suspect that's what the Dems' are calculating right now. If they can get another Rep to cross to the Dems, nullifying Leiberman's defection.
But Leiberman is one of the few Senators on other side I actually believe loves this country, supports the troops, and would take cost to himself to protect both.

I posted before I read your post. Same thought on the am analogy. :-)
And, I agree with you. With one exception. You can be certain the Dems are secretly working other Reps to potentially pull a Jeffords. If they do that, leiberman's power is null and void. We'll have to see if the GOP can hold their weak Liberal breathen in this "tent" they have bragged about.

Being on the right side of one issue shouldn't make you a Republican. Don't let the Rudy brigade get wind of that.

McCain will be the last person I vote for in the primary, but he's been almost 100% good on the WOT. He criticized Rumsfeld, but in his defense all conservatives are calling for an increase in troops which he has been calling for a long time.
We need to get more serious about nominees. McStain, we don't like or trust. Romney has some disturbing past statements and actions but has done a lot to remedy those. Giuliani, well, he's just an unrepentant leftwinger, a total northeast liberal Republican, everything that the party of Reagan has rejected since the Sixties.
I'm awaiting more info on Romney. I distrust McStain. But I won't rule out voting for either of them in the general election. But I can't vote for Rudy.
To: George W. Bush
Shrewd for Joe, for the GOP and even for the Dims who don't really want to defund the war, they just want to be in a position to constantly criticize Bush for it.
Great point. This allows the Dems to still pander to the moonbat base writing the checks, while giving them cover to not turn 99% of the living military veterans into rabid Democrat haters.
To: HJH207
Wow...ya gotta give it him...he's got a pair to stand down an entire party...and one he's been a part of his whole life.
