Adherence to the U.S. Constitution is what defines what is truly "conservative".

"We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."

Our "posterity" consists of those yet unborn, does it not? This Preamble, the laying out of the very premises for our Constitution, grants our posterity equal footing with ourselves. The founders considered YOUR rights to have equal standing with their own.

Fifth Amendment, US Constitution

"No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation."

"Due process of law" consists of a fair trial on a capital offense. Just exactly what capital offense are the unborn guilty of, and when did one of them receive a fair trial concerning said "offense?"

"All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

Can you imagine the Founding Fathers writing the right of abortion into the Constitution? They carefully and passionately debated each and every clause, phrase and word. What a debate it must've been. Pro life vs pro death. Wonder which side James Madison, George Washington and Ben Franklin came down on? Funny that we see so much written about the debates at the Constitutional Convention on most other issues, wonder why the original debate on abortion was held in such secrecy and why none of the founders ever wrote about it? Especially since they did write a lot about the rest of the debates and of their abiding faith in God, life and liberty?

Right, it says "state" -- that means state government. The 14th says nothing about what individuals may or may not do.

You're grasping at straws here, same as you were above. The 5th Amendment constrains government, not individuals.

If you want abortion banned nationally, amend the Constitution. Quit acting like a liberal and mistaking your policy preference for a Constitutional mandate.
