Brothers and Sisters you honor my son for me; I cannot express my gratitude in my own words so I will repeat what I have read in other places:
"At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us."
Therefore "Thank you my brothers and sisters, and may God bring a blessing upon you, has you have done for me, my wife, and my son."
My friends I find myself working late into the nights to keep the message that my son Christopher Mason was on this earth, and that his actions counted.
I ask one thing of my friends on this forum and that is please share the following linked video with everyone you know. Email it, paste links to it, just tell other people about it, that is all I ask.
If you believe God has placed us on this earth to do his work, then watch this video of my son, Chris, as he speaks a message from God. I watch this video and I think to myself "that was my son's true purpose for being borne." It was to bring the world this last message before he was killed 44 days later in combat. In the video you will also see my son grow into a man.

Note - I did not make the video, it was done by the church (Life Chruch of Mobile Alabama)in memory of Cpl Christopher Edward Mason, but God's words are the stars.
Thank everyone on the forum for your kind comments. After reading so many kind words of love I can now, more then ever before, say I am proud to be a member of the Free Republic community.
A beautiful video for a beautiful young man. Know that Chris sits amongst angels now...he will always watch and protect you and your beloved. May God bless you and your family always, Mr. Mason.
You've been blessed.
Thank you. I will send this on.
FINAL INSPECTION
The Soldier stood and faced God
Which must always come to pass
He hoped his shoes were shining
Just as bright as his brass.
"Step forward you Soldier,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
The Solider squared his shoulders and said
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't
Because those of us who carry guns
Can't always be a saint.
I've had to work on Sundays
And at times my talk was tough,
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny
That wasn't mine to keep.
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just to steep,
And I never passed a cry for help
Though at times I shook with fear,
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand,
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand."
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod
As the Soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, you Soldier,
You've borne your burden well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."
Rest Well Cpl Mason.
What a beautiful tribute to a wise and wonderful young man. His words touched my soul. May he rest in peace and may you all be comforted and strengthened by his memory.
Although I have not seen the video (our S6 Snoops here won't allow My Space pages), I am sure that your son was a fine soldier and a good man. And I also know that the members of his team will hold him close to their hearts for the rest of their lives.
Thank you for honoring your son's choice to be a soldier. I have no doubt that his sacrifice saved countless civilian lives on American soil, and that is the most precious gift he could give. God bless him.
Mr. Mason, may our Lord bring peace and comfort to you and your family. Your son has been lifted up on eagles wings and shines like the sun in the palm of God's hand. I too am a soldier and I will be heading back over to Afghanistan soon, I too lost a child 9 years ago. I know your pain and I know that your son will come to you and peace will be in your heart.
May God bless you, too. Thank you for your service.
Thank you for sharing the video of your son and his message. God bless you and your family.
Have you considered contacting Laura Ingraham?
May God rest his precious soul. Thank you Chris for being a godly man and fighting for all Americans so we can continue to be free. Even those who think it's not worth it.
