Interesting new info: "Newt Gingrich, who has said he may not run if Giuliani holds a commanding lead.".
To: FairOpinion
I might be more willing to accept Giuliani if someone like Gingrich was on the ticket.

Newt is a realist.
Other conservatives could learn from him.

I take great delight in seeing McCain's poll number sink.

Newt's negatives are too high. It would just drag Rudy down.

Right now it looks like Rudy might carry CA and in that case Hillary is toast.

I don't know, in most cases it seems VP candidates don't effect the outcome at all.
Edwards sure didn't help Kerry in NC.
Gingrich, or another strong conservative, on the ticket could play sort of the reverse role that the more moderate Bush created on Reagan's ticket in 1980.

I conceded myself to a McCain candidacy quite a while ago.
I never though Rudy could catch on. I know its early, but I too take pleasure in seeing McCain implode.

It doesn't sound like a good combo...2 with marital problems in the past. You need someone who is long-married and more conservative to be his running mate, if he gets the nomination (and I hope he does, or Romney).

McCain was pushed by the MSM as the "ideal candidate", when in fact, if he had been the R nominee (shudder!), Hillary would have eaten him for lunch -- maybe that's exactly why the MSM was trying to con Republicans into the inevitability of a McC Republican nomination.

I think that is an excellent idea! That would be a great ticket that will win.

Edwards was a foolish choice. VP candidates are usually chosen to deliver a certain state that would otherwise be lost, and/or to "balance" a ticket.
Edwards did neither, and it was obvious that he would do neither. Just another example of how lucky we were to have an idiot like Kerry nominated by the Dems.

How about a Giuliani - Hunter ticket? Giuliani's not my top pick but versus the Hildebeast being elected I might have to live with it.

Thanks for posting the details.
Duncan Hunter doubled his numbers in the poll!
He went from 1% to 2% -- of course the margin of error of the poll is 2.5%, but "Hunter has real momentum", as some say. ;)
