Well look! Another liberal media poll, polling liberals, showing a liberal leading a liberal! How exciting!

Who is the last VP candidate to deliver a state? LBJ?

Newt, or a well known conservative like him, would obviously be a balance to some socially liberal positions of Giuliani.

The only people funnier than the Ron Paul or Tancredo crowd is people who think Duncan Hunter actually has a shot at the nomination.

Duncan Hunter doubled his numbers in the poll!

I will grudgingly admit that the 2% for DH is positive news for him. It doesn't gladden me any to see Romney mired at 7%.

The only people sadder than the McCain or Romney people are the people who think them or Giuliani SHOULD get the nomination.

I agree Newt shouldn't be on the ticket, but he should be in some sort adviser position.

No kidding! A guy who saw gay marriage, a ban on "assault weapons" and socialized medicine all instituted on his watch should be getting at least 120% of the Republican vote, don't you think!

I haven't made any decisions yet myself.

Its just a fact of life that people like Ron Paul, Tancredo, or Hunter have no shot at the nomination.

Could be. Which leaves nary a real Republican to vote for.

Gingrich is just another "New World Order" type. (With more baggage than a Fed Ex freight airplane).

Sec. of State requires a bit less of an ego then Newt has. I'd rather see him as Sec. of Education or something related to domestic policy.

Honestly, I think he'd serve best in an unofficial position. Something along the lines of Karl Rove, but having less to do with elections and more to do with policy.

Do me a favor: Stop using the term "New World Order". It's a meaningless term invented by the Pat Robertson crowd to denounce anything they didn't like.

I mean, really, what does it mean? Can you really say anything concrete about it? Because if you can, you are the first.

Newt's negatives are too high. It would just drag Rudy down.

Exactly, Catmom. bump.

Newt is the only R extant with a Q score lower than hillary's.
For Newt to win, he must run against a toad.... ;)

And has he ever held an executive position?

I don't think women will ever forgive him for what he did to his cancer-ridden wife.
Speaking as a woman, that's a deal-killer...
(along with his feckless method of clinton-confrontation-by-curtseying).
Newt repeatedly and reflexively submits to the clintons when he is supposed to confront them.

Speaking of which,
Newt is resuscitating hillary clinton's moribund health-care credibility even as we debate this.
The two of them are collaborating on some arcane healthcare conceit or other.

Well I think Romney will win it going away however Rudy would certainly send the extremes of both parties into suicide mode.

Might be worth it for sheer entertainment value.

What, you mean your old boss Keys isn't running so you can have a 'real' Republican to vote for?

EV, the thread is discussing a recently released national poll. Wouldn't it be more apropos for your posts to relate to the thread's subject?

Ask yourself, "Could my post be copied and pasted in to any other thread in which the name "Romney" appears and be just as [in]valid?" If you answer "yes" to that question, then you are doing something called "spam" (which isn't good).

Keyes would be far superior to most all in this field.
