One thing I've certainly noticed with the flood of cheap illegal immigrant labor is the piss poor quality of the work they are doing. The contractors sure aren't passing along their savings, and the product being sold is pathetically substandard.
However, there are those here on FR who will defend their supposed constitutional right to cheap labor. It's an issue that has it's root in greed, IMO.

You are right about the poor quality. It does not seem to keep the houses from selling though. The house that my husband had the Mexicans pulled in on him looked awful. He got so mad that he went on a different job for this contractor. The Mexicans finished it up. You could tell where his work ended and theirs took over. There was a big difference in quality. The brick on the entryway of the house was bowed to a very obvious degree but this house sold right away. Are people getting so used to sorry construction that they don't even care anymore?

Here in Nevada almost all residential construction is done by illegal workers.
I walked to the post office just after we bought our new house. The brand new sidewalks are third-world quality. Uneven, poorly finished, quite clearly done by someone with no concrete skills whatsoever.
We have truly sold our souls to the devil on this immigration mess.

Piss poor quality? That sounds like the union contractors around here and none of them are Mexicans!
