Over the weekend, John McCain said in Iowa, "One of the things I would do, the first day I am President of the United States, is close Guantanamo Bay. I would close it and I would move those prisoners to Fort Leavenworth. It's become a symbol, which is very bad for America."

I'd really like to quiz someone who's close to him. Does he really believe any of the shit he spouts? Is he really nuts? Is this calculated to bring about some perceived electoral advantage? (I think he must really be nuts myself)

LOL! Guilty!
In 1999-2000 I supported John McCain. Donated money to the McCain campaign. Canvassed neighborhoods for the McCain campaign. Until... McCain started bashing Candidate Bush, blaming Bush for McCain's own failures!
Never again Senator McCain, never again.

Can't close the Club if you don't win, Richard.

"And McCain would move them all to Kansas! '
Well, moving them to a Kansas prison cemetery [is there one at Leavenworth?], or better, to a Kansas compost heap or a landfill, while bad, would not be THAT bad an idea.

"McCain is nuts."
Yup.
And full of himself.
He is not going to become president.
To: rintense
What's amazing to me is that he thinks there is anyone in the country who agrees with him on anything.

I can't claim credit for the idea since Lincoln would have done the same. :)

It will be a cold day in hell when senator McCain becomes president of the United States. I don't care what dummy runs against him if he is nomonated I'll stay home.
McCain does not deserve that office.

Anybody who sided with the KLA, as McCain did, would logically wany to close gitmo. He''s being very consistent in his appeasement of muslim terrorists, and the correct thing to do is never forget that, and pay him back at the voting booth.
