We will miss your input and your hard work on Sanity Island...but know that you will still be with us.
Jonny is a hero for taking the baton and running with it. He has done a great job filling in before!

Sounds like someone finally got a clue! You won't hear about it in the Has-Been Media. They only report bad news of conservative issues.

One of the things that made it a lot easier to step aside is knowing Jonny is going to be at the helm, that the Dosers would not be left wanting. He's done a fantastic job and I know he'll continue to do so.
See, Jonny, you really DID get that big promotion (aka: more work)!

Thank you for being there so reliably for us, Gretchen. I appreciate all the Dose posters and pings even though I usually can't post as much in the evenings right now.
(That may change in a few months)

I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO looking forward to the day IRAQ is insertable into this type of sentence:
"Dick Cheney, center, holds talks with U.S. and Japanese military leaders at the Yokosuka Naval Base. Cheney praised Japan as 'one of America's closest allies' and said relations have never been better, adding that Tokyo and Washington 'understand our duties."

I watched "24" last year....couldn't deal with it again this year. I don't like STRESS when I watch TV.. Wow, sleuthy, we have a lot in common there, but you have a much higher tolerance than I; I never can get past the first couple of minutes of any episode of "24". You went a whole season. It took me ages to be able to handle L&O. Now I love "Criminal Intent" (I'm a huge Vincent D'Onofrio fan), but I usually don't watch the blood and guts first few minutes and sometimes I tape it and watch the ending first. ;-)

I had a young skull full of MUSH look at me and speak to me as if I had quaffed moon juice or some other equally suspicious substance when I:
averred that Dan Rather and CBS were more biased than NBC or ABC;
and that global warming is not scientifically proven to be caused by humans.
I had to give up the discussion. Her brother had done a research paper in school that irrefutably proved global warming yada yada yada, and her parents had always preferred CBS to any other nightly news cast.
