The speedway sits on a 568-acre site that once hosted the first steel mill located west of the Rocky Mountains, Kaiser Steel Mill. The mill produced the steel that helped build the Liberty ships used by the Allies to win World War II.

I have to admit I was checking a ping on the Anna Nicole thread. Yep I'm hooked on that, I have never seen such a spectacle........even the OJ trial wasn't like this one.

Am off this weekend so will be able to watch this race.

Any driver that takes Schrader out of the race is going to have to answer to me personally. I'm tired of Ken being taken out. He probably won't win but he's my favorite driver.

I thought this was kind of petty.........

Responding to complaints from Sunoco, the official fuel supplier of NASCAR, the sanctioning body has been in discussions with Harvick's Richard Childress Racing team the past several days to address Sunoco's concerns over the branding of Shell-Pennzoil's sponsorship on Harvick's uniform and helmet.
In response to those complaints, Harvick can no longer wear the driver's helmet used in Sunday's race -- which featured a prominent Shell logo -- and his uniform had to be redone to include less prominent Shell logos, multiple sources confirmed.

Before Sunday's Daytona 500, team officials confirmed Harvick was asked by NASCAR if he would wear a jacket over his uniform during Daytona 500 introductions, which he agreed to do.

Not racing related but very important....Building 18 at Walter Reed is filled with mold and rats. This building IS occupied by soldiers recuperating from injuries.

Just reported on Fox, may be on FR already........but this is just terrible.
