States attorney general says theres no reason to deny them recognition.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Rhode Island Attorney General Patrick Lynch says his state should recognize the gay marriages of state employees performed in Massachusetts.
A letter dated yesterday from Lynch says Rhode Island prohibits discrimination based on sexual orientation and also extends benefits such as health insurance to domestic partners of state employees.
And because theres no Rhode Island law banning gay marriage Lynch says theres no reason to deny recognition of same-sex unions performed in Massachusetts.
Massachusetts is the only state where gay marriage is legal.

You really want to "light the fuse" and then be able to get far enough away to observe the blast without getting hit with the shrapnel - call one a "Stool Pigeon"

also extends benefits
The article doesn't say....but would the 'spouse' of a gay employee now be entitled to the pension benefits of that employee? If so, I bet their actuaries are busy right now.

Maybe we here in Georgia can recognize gay unions performed in Massachusetts. After they satisfy the 98 year residency requirement, in Massachusetts!
