Rudy Giuliani now comes in a new package. Social conservatives still arent buying it.
Its a sleight of hand, said Bob Barr, a former Georgia Congressman and champion of small government. On issues that I consider extremely important to conservatives, such as respect for the Second Amendment, he is nowhere near even remotely in the ballpark of a conservative philosophy.
The famously resolute, plain-spoken and uncompromising former Mayor has unveiled new shades of nuance to go along with his historically liberal positions on abortion, gun control and gay marriage, which pose the major obstacles to his pursuit of the Republican nomination for President in 2008.

LOL.
What the USSC needs are conservative activist judges, who will disregard poorly reasoned, and "penumbra and emanation" precedents in dismantling the edifice of intellectually dishonest crap erected by "Earl the Pearl" Warren, William "Zero" Douglas, et all, and worshipped by Ruth "Vader" Ginsburg", "Empty" Souter, and "I Scream" Breyer.
Yep. And, based on the Preamble and the Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments, declare abortion illegal in all the states and territories.
They might if the alternative is a GOP run by, and representing the views of, Rockerfeller Republicans, i.e Rudy, Christie Todd Whitman, Tom Keane, etc.
Here's what the real left wingers think about Rudy:
Left-wingers don't oppose publicly-funded antireligious propaganda.
I'll never vote for a gun grabbing NY'er.
NEVER!
Middle-of-the-roaders always end up being hated by everyone on both sides. It's unavoidable.
If it GENUINELY endangers the life of the mother, I do not object to abortion. I was a prosecutor for 26 years, and the law has always allowed the theory of "self defense" to justify certain homicides, i.e killing someone to save the life of the actor or a third party. Such an abortion is consonant with that well established legal principle.
"I can work for a candidate, or I can ignore them, but when it comes down to anyone who threatens my "inalienable rights", I will work my ass off to defeat them."
Well, he certainly was popular with Al Sharpton.
And Bill Clinton was?
Reverend Al usually likes left wingers, doesn't he?
Socialists always fight amongst themselves. Think Hitler and Stalin.
And Bill Clinton was?
He lied and deceived the many. Remember his "Third way" propaganda? No one knew it was Marxism until it was too late. (It's sort of like Rudy trying to run as a Conservative.)
Sharpton and Rudy hated each other and Rudy REFUSED to meet with Rev Al.
But facts don't matter to you people.
If the REASON not to allow abortion is because it is the murder of an innocent baby, where is the logic in saying it is ok to murder an innocent baby because of a series of acts for which the innocent was not responsible - to wit: the rape or incest of the mother?
Those exceptions don't hold up to rational scrutiny. And, of course, if abortion is allowed in those cases and made illegal otherwise, then THOSE babies will never be protected at all, because you will never get the momentum to get rid of the remaining evil once you've gotten rid of most of it.
The best way to get rid of abortion is to have judges find a human right to life and due process in the Constitution, and remove the issue from democracy in the OTHER direction of Roe. That's the only way, really, to protect ALL the babies, because people are just not good enough to not weasel out in the hard cases.
AMEN. Life is life and it's a baby, not chattel slave-matter owned by the female parent.
Wrong premises lead to wrong answers and that's what the Liberals Cultural Marxists are counting on. How about swift and sure death penalty for any rape or incest? How about a call to manhood so that males who cut-and-run from the women they abandon are treated with all due societal contempt, not as a carefree selfish self-gratifying hedonist who is in fact a socialist welfarist ally in enlarging the nanny state?
As regards extreme health situations, this is a classic red herring, there are so few such cases that this is statistically almost a moot point--except for those desperate to create a Hegelian Dialectic out of something, anything.... In such cases as do occur, Doctors do their best in such cases to save both--and triage if that is not possible. Of course, I refer here to actual doctors who first do no harm--not to those who make a living killing.
