If Mr. Giuliani becomes president he will be working with a Democrat Congress for his entire term. Just how is he going to get an Alioto on the bench? He will make strict construction initial appointments; they will be shot down in Congress and he will find someone the left crazies will confirm. The effect will be the same as with a Mrs. Clinton presidency except that Mrs. Clinton will lose her sweetheart Congress in 2010. The Congress will, for a year or two, be in the hands of Republican activists (a la 1994) with the probability that a Republican CONSERVATIVE will be elected president in 2012.
