As Obama rails against "slash & burn" politics, his top Hollywood fundraiser - David Geffen - personally attacks Hillary & her family
Clinton Communications Director Howard Wolfson issued the following statement today demanding that Barack Obama disavow personal attacks that his campaign finance chair made against Senator Clinton in this morning's New York Times:
"While Senator Obama was denouncing slash and burn politics yesterday, his campaign's finance chair was viciously and personally attacking Senator Clinton and her husband.
"If Senator Obama is indeed sincere about his repeated claims to change the tone of our politics, he should immediately denounce these remarks, remove Mr. Geffen from his campaign and return his money.
"While Democrats should engage in a vigorous debate on the issues, there is no place in our party or our politics for the kind of personal insults made by Senator Obama's principal fundraiser.

that is the real under tow here , just not stated as it would open a can of books (worms) to this effect.
The imperious Camp Clinton really expects adversaries to "cut ties and return cash" because they are allowing a supporter like David Geffen to tell the truth about the Clintons as he sees it???Unbelievable, but expected!
All I can say to Geffen is "YOU GO, GIRL!!!!!!
THis kind of stuff will only harden large parts of Hollywood's resolve against Hillary, as it should....remember that some of what Geffen said about being a "good liar" was also said years ago by another Democrat, Bob Kerrey.......
In this Team Clinton directive, though, we now see just how they take any opposition: they put Obama's entirely legitimate bid to be the nominee and his supporters' REAL criticism of the entirely Establishment Hillary Clinton as equivalent to , say, major financial support by some fanatical far Left OR far Right fringe group. I can't even think of any examples, because these groups have already been absorbed or nullified as players in the political realm. What NERVE of the Clintons to think that kind of strategy would "fly"!!!!!

Well, Geffen has his own political battles in Hollywierd. He had a severe falling out, IIRC, with Steven and all. That is not helpful to one's power base.
I hope these two run neck and neck right up to the end. Let the bleeding begin.

The Clintons are trying to act now to prevent their scandals from hurting Her Majesty's campaign. Looks like they've taken a page from the corrupt O'Malleys of Maryland, or did Marty Boy and Katie take it from them in the first place?
LOL...well, I don't hate stone age tribes, I just figured he'd fit in there...he's used to savagely attacking people, and they'd have the added benefit of not understanding him so they wouldn't care what he might rave on about. In fact, he may stimulate the stone age economies...I suspect after a time the tribe would pay just about any number of pigs to bribe another tribe to take him...and they in turn would pay another tribe many pigs to take him.
Mr. Geffen is just a leetle slow on the uptake. He is just now noticing how easily the Clinton's lie??? But he still hasn't figgered out that Marc Rich's pardon IS an indication of what they really believe in. POWER! Their power.

":unwilling to stand for the things they genuinely believe in...." should of course be amended to "things WE THOUGHT they genuinely believed in".....and that misperception is the source of a lot of waning support for BillandHill that has occurred steadily since the mid-90s among former and previous supporters: they had SO MANY people buffalo'd into thinking they were an incorruptible breed apart
from the usual Establishment politicians, that they were the unfairly persecuted "good guys", that the former supporters , rather than admit their own naivete,instead express disappointment and disenchantment with the Clinton's "loss of innocence" and willingness to "sell out". In fact those are the things that defined the powerhungry Clintoons from the beginning.
And as much support as the Clintons have lost, they've always managed to replace it with a carefully crafted manipulation of smoke and mirrors, and the sheer repetition of "facts" from their media handmaidens, like that Hillary has been SO GOOD for New York state.
